Breaking from their normal routine of Holiday House Parties, the guys from SocaWeb.com and sixAxis Ent. (friends of Trini Jungle Juice) decided to setup shop this time in the upscale setting of KAREEM’S Seafood and Wine Bar. When last you party with carpet under you feet? The promised the same house party vibe without some of the hassles of parking and complaining neighbors that come with the house party, so we were eager to see if they could recreate that in the restaurant.

Arriving at KAREEM’S just before 12 midnight, we were a lil shocked to see lights on, equipment being setup and tables and chairs being removed. It seems things were getting off to a late start, as the restaurant’s diners continued to dine well past the time for the start of the party. One couple in particular refused to leave their table that was situated right where the C.I.Dee Sound System needed to setup, even though their meal had been completed and paid for quite some time ago, but what you gonna do. Finally the tables had been moved, the sound system setup and the lights dimmed, so party starting right around 1AM. A small sized crowed had occupied the front of the restaurant, seemingly staying close to the front bar keeping the bartenders busy.

In an effort to ensure that all present could enjoy the evening they were treated to Reggae for the first session of the night ranging from the classic to such current hits as Buju’s "Driver", by the time the DJ switched the pace and hit them with some Soca, the Soca massive was salivating and bruck loose to such big tunes as "One More Time" and "Soca City" by H2O Phlo. It was pace in they waist now! The crowd had continued to filter in throughout the night and by now there was precious little room to maneuver your way around the dance floor, so yuh might as well had find a spot and rock so and dip so. Then C.I.Dee Sound seemed to be warmed up and vibzing off the crowd (or the Belvedere), then hit them over the head with some old school Hip Hop for the sing along session of the night, with tracks like the classic "Scenario" by Tribe Called Quest and Leaders of the New School.... folks ain’t that that in so long they ain’t know what hit them, man start to jump around like it was 1996 all over again. Who say the 'Mature n Sexy' cyah party? Who say yuh cyah dress up nice and still get on bad in a fete? They ain't never been to FRIENDS! They ain't never heard the Jungle Juice sound spin before!

As usual, a good time was had by all, and it was very drunking good, though getting drunk was made a little difficult due to the fact that most folks did not know the bar in the back lounge was open for business, or that there was Scotch and Coconut water for sale, or that there was 1919 for sale, but doh worry next time that won't be a problem. And those lucky enough to have sampled the pepper shrimp cooked by KAREEM’S resident chef, said it was to die for, or at least to come back next month on May 5th. See you all then.

p.s. We understand that a select few were invited to a secret After Party at an undisclosed location. But how the promoter leave we out so?? Maybe next time. To Be Continued...
