UBERSOCA CRUISE, LET THE MADNESS THE RETURN!

We closed off our 2019 Ubersoca Cruise Review with the line, “See you guys on board Ubersoca Cruise 2020!” That really didn’t age well. With the pandemic behind us now, the words of Voice and Alison Hinds’ 2023 hit song "The Return" couldn’t ring any truer, “Is long time that we waiting... so let the madness return”.

Sailing from the beautiful Puerto Rico was a welcomed first for UberSoca. As the eager cruisers warmed up at the pre-party at the grand Distrito T_Mobile center, others like me were still flying in for this can’t miss event. After a seamless boarding on a graceful Sunday morning, everyone made their way to the pool deck for the Do You Dress Code Sail Away Party. Wacky, Wonky, Sexy and Wild are the only words to describe the team costumes and elaborate outfits spotted that evening. Goodbye San Juan, Hello Norwegian EPIC, home for the next 5 days. After sailing away and settling into our rooms, there’s no time to waste, because all doctors and nurses need to report for duty on the pool deck, it’s time for the Scrubs Party! This awesome party was filled with amazing performances from the best soca artists backed by the A Team Band. Still not enough? Hit up the after parties on the lower deck afterward to expend whatever remaining energy is left. Remember folks, USC is a marathon not a sprint. There are tons of activities on board, so pace yourself.

Feeling yourself yet? You better be, because it's time for the ‘Love the Skin You’re In’ Pool Party. Bikinis, Babes, Water and Soca, the perfect recipe for a good time!

‘Dear Reader, this author finds himself compelled to share the most curious of news. ‘Tis the talk of the ton that UberSoca Cruise took the W with their Bridgerton Night’. Royalty and servantry, Lords and Ladys all partied side by side to the sweet sounds of Soca deep into the night.

“HEEELLLLOOOOOOO! Morning! Morning! Morning!” After the signature Barrie Hype wakeup call over the PA system, it’s time to grab those floaties and leave the ship for the Raft Up and Beach Party on the golden sands of St. Maarten. After a thorough hot sun wining workout and making a mess with Asa Bantan, Ding Dong Ravers, Iwer George and Ricardo Drue, it's time to follow Jane Fonda and Richard Simmons back to the ship because we’re gonna have a Retro Workout Party all night long!

“HEEELLLLOOOOOOO! Morning! Morning! Morning! Welcome to my motherland, the beautiful Saint Lucia. Leave your behavior on the ship and grab those carnival costumes because it’s time for USC Carnival Road Experience!” We jumped and reveled through the Lucian Carnival parade route with three music trucks satisifying any Carnival Tabanca. Still causing bacchanal? Well head back to ship and whip out that homework for the Revenge of The Nerds Party. Everyone got group detention for unruly behavior.

Another Island?! UberSoca Cruise really outdid themselves once again at the final destination St. Thomas, USVI. Paint, Powder and Water filled the road as cruisers paraded through the streets for the USC J’ouvert, making their way from the port to the festival village. All dyed up and wet down, the crowd gathered in front of the huge stage for the UberFinale Concert, with a whole heap of bands and performances draining every bit of energy we had left.

To all my carnival junkies out there, Trini Jungle Juice says that Ubersoca Cruise is a MUST attend. Kudos to the hardworking team behind the magic: Nathaniel, Daniel, Jodi, to the hardest working bartenders, the hypemen, all the amazing talent, managers, and the amazing staff of the Norwegian EPIC cruise liner.
