Out of respect for a carnival icon, and to allow revellers to enjoy as much of the pre-carnival season as possible, ISLANDpeople Mas has chosen to launch of their Carnival 2006 presentation, The Enchanted Forest, on Sunday September 11, 2005.
The original date of the launch (September 10) would have been a pre-season first, forcing masqueraders to choose between the launch of two large bands. “We’re ready to reveal our presentation with an interesting mix of magic and theatre,” say ISLANDpeople Mas bandleaders, “But Carnival for us is about unity, strength and positive energy – not competition. As we seek to enter the Carnival fraternity, we wanted to show respect for the greats in the industry and so decided to represent on Sunday.”
The Enchanted Forest, the premier ISLANDpeople Mas presentation, will be an all-inclusive, 14 section band. Telling an actual story of a magical journey, each Chapter of The Enchanted Forest story, will be presented through a unique and exciting mix of artsy and sexy mas.
The magic will be revealed at sunset in the Courtyard of the place where seeds of hope were recently planted: The National Stadium.
