This year's Orlando Carnival was thought of by many to be one of the better ones, if not the best ever. It was the 20th anniversary of Orlando Carnival and it seemed like every one from every creed and every race was out in full force.
Someone commented that he remembered when Orlando's Carnival consisted of 20 people chipping down the road. This year it was more like 2,000 people! There were about 6-7 bands, some of them including "Caribbean Fever", "Cave Dwellers", "Ah Sailor & Yuh Muddah", and the biggest one, "Sexy Camo".
The trucks were bigger, the music was louder, the route was longer and everyone had a blast. At the park where everyone ended up we were treated to live performances by Iwer George, Mr. Slaughter, Lil Bitts, Nadia Batson, and Crossovah (local Orlando band). Orlando Carnival 2k7 was something to remember and organizers are promising even bigger and better things for next year.
