TGIF!!!! We just now recovering from a heck of a scene in NY on Thanksgivin' Eve, the belly full of turkey and stuffing from Thursday and then having to get up and go to work on Friday. When we check the schedule 3Some is next up on the itinerary. This party used to be a regular on the TJJ calendar about a year ago, but in an effort to find a new home it has been few and far between. As usual the night got off to a late start, this time though (we always have an excuse) is because there was a mandatory lime up in West Palm Beach first, so after bussing up two plate ah food and X amount of Green Label (Thanks to the Doc for having us!), it took quite a bit of effort to motivate and make the hour long drive to Bongos Cuban Café, American Airlines Arena. The ride was extended even further by getting lost and ending up outside Bricks and Big Fish, best the designated driver was drinkin too! :-)

So now is almost 1:30 AM and we finally walking from the underground parking up to Bongos, the ladies we saw on that short walk foreshadowed a beautiful evening. As usual, Dave and Islands United had TJJ well covered at the door. Inside Bongos we were greeted by a sparse crowd and lots of empty space. The scene was not helped by the folks who separated themselves upstairs in VIP and those who found themselves sitting all around the club. This of course did not stop us from stepping up to the bar for a drink or two. A serious drawback to the venue is the cost of drinks... 12 smackers! AND they pourin like is one bottle have to last whole night. With the club being so empty we were able to look around and realize this is a pretty good venue for a party. Sound system (although to avoid echoes you have to be on the dance floor), lowered dance floor, ample seating (could also be a bad thing), and VIP area upstairs overlooking everything. All we needed was more people (and cheaper drinks).

Well somebody must have gotten the wishbone in their Thanksgiving dinner and their wish came through, cause by 2am, the place was packed and the party was jumping!!! Slowly and surely folks just coming through the door, and when we say folks we mean women, if yuh see 'oman in the dance, they woulda have to rename the party Girl Power, yes! Yeah maaan, jus so the dance floor pack up, the VIP empty out and the bar get full. And we have said before 3Some does have plenty woman, but these women does come out to party, not no set of posers and stushness. One leg up on the air, backed up on the wall, down on the ground they getting on, and everyone having a good time. Whoever come up with the conceprt to let any 3 person crew of ladies in for free, should get a Nobel Bumsie Prize!!! :-) The DJs of the night included Dorenzo, Giselle the Wassy One and most notably Black Chinee. Giselle pull through and rip up a nice soca set. Another thing that made the dance different and memorable, was the fact that if a DJ play Hip Hop; dance floor buss, if they play RnB; dance buss, dancehall; dance buss, soca; dance buss. You could not peg this crowd down to one particular genre at all, and no one genre dominated the night. It was like a Trini club in that regard. Black Chiney..... well all we can say is they were back to classic Black Chiney form that night. Talk bout shit talk and BUSS DANCE!!!!!! Men play a dancehall remix on a alternative rock riddim there that had men bawlin'!!!

Man, this dance was nice. 3Some is soon to be a regular on the calander again, so stay tuned for the details, next up look out for Naked 'The Christmas Edition'. Next stop Toronto tomorrow night for the 3rd Annual Big People Parang.
