We reach de stage… we warmin up!! People, if you didn't know it was Fire Fete 3 well we're not sure what planet you have been on for the past six months. One of the many anticipated fetes for the year in Toronto was finally here and let us tell you de people were ready to party. You would think that the spacious Kool Haus which easily accommodates 3000 plus fetegoers would be ample room but oh no we say, party was RAM, place HOT, somebody say Firreeeeeeee!!!

Being veterans to the FireFete series, TJJ arrived on scene with plenty time to spare, we talking 9:30pm, the doors were not yet open and with the growing line up you would swear they were giving away free food (lol). Around 10pm doors were opened and after a quick and thorough security check, the crowd poured into Kool Haus. We mean de place went from empty and desolate to jam packed in less than an hour! As usual big props to the star line up of DJs (special mention to D'Bandit, Soca Sweetness, Court Jester) jammin on the one's and two's as well as host S.K.F and E Man who slowly worked the crowd to the hot and sweaty frenzied behavior that was only going to be multiplied tens times more when it was time for the artists to reach on stage.

Without further adieu it was time to get this fete going, first up was the fireman himself Bunji Garlin. With nothing but a sea of rags and flags moving left to right in unison, Bunji commanded the crowd with his energy, performing hit tunes such as "Doi Festival", "Bomb Song" and "Fireman". However, when one of Trini's local reggae sensations, Prophet Benjamin, came out to sing "Fire Fi Dem" alongside Bunji, it was madness - the crowd went crazy. It was a performance well worth waiting for.

Next up was de big man in the business Iwer George, kicking off his energetic performance with the 2001 hit, Let Me See Yuh Hand hhahahahaaaan... tek a jump up... tek a jump up! The crowd was hyped! Of course there was no stopping the madness, at this point the middle of the fete looked like a mosh pit, with Iwer singing hot tunes such as "We Reach" and "Water", it was no wonder we noticed people with missing clothing and even SHOES (look out for de last picture in the gallery)!!!

By the time Machel Montano & Xtatik came on, the crowd was already hyped from the other great performances, and he didn't let us down. One thing about Machel, he makes the audience feel like they are a part of his show. Like it's his people and trust us, the people love him. Machel gave the crowd a performance that was expected, singing big big tunes, taking us back a Carnival or two with "Big Truck", "Toro Toro" & "Craziness" all the way to his hit tunes of Carnival 2K6 like "Scandalous". However, it was when Patrice Roberts came on stage to sing 2006 Road March "Band of the Year" that was pretty much when all craziness took off! We've seen madness, but oh lawd people were really making up for the fact that Carnival was done! (lol) Another highlight was Benjai singing "Amnesty" alongside Machel, which is something we all feel the need for. Stop the violence!

With most of the top soca stars all performing on the same stage in one night, feters really got their monies worth - especially if you were smart enough to buy your tickets way in advance. Much thanks to CVR Entertainment & IBz for allowing us to pass through to capture the action. Folks, Fire Fete 4 is coming 2006 Caribana Weekend. 3 words ... "THE BIG TICKET". We are not new to this but TRUE to this!
