Now we can get away from the "Boy I miss home" or "Tabanca, Tabanca Ohy."

De Lime on The Hill, an event that takes place every Wednesday night at The Hill (56 Muswell Hill, London, N10 3ST), a multi-purpose entertainment centre. Whether dancing or drinking, it's the perfect place to chill, chow and chatter. The Hill represents very clearly the changing face of entertainment, and the coming together of needs for business and pleasure. Combine this with great style and panache and you have an equation that is irresistible.

The first event kicked off on Wednesday 12th April 2006, bringing Soca to north London from 7pm - 12midnight. How long have we waited for this occasion??!! Hosted by one of the UK's leading Caribbean promoters, Cocoyea, which was formed about 23 years ago with an initial aim to promote the music of Trinidad and Tobago (Calypso and Soca), we can say that they have surely accomplished that and more!

The night started off a little slow, but then the heat was turned on with a live act by the one and only Tobago Crusoe extempoing away enchanting the ladies with his sweet Soca twist, followed by the sweet sounds of Soca by DJs Martin Jay & Mike Forbes.

Spotted in the crowd was X Trinidad and Tobago Radio Announcer and Anslem Manohar better known as "DJ Slim" from Toco Radio Station. We can't believe all this goes on in London. All we need now is a nice cup ah corn soup and a Cold Carib beer yes! We also spoke to a few Trini's visiting, who were impressed seeing what we can do. Not only do we possess talent but we have de skills. We also had the opportunity to link up with Dexter, one of the main promoters of BWIA Cocoyea, who was very happy with the turn out and is looking forward to future Wednesday limes on the Hill.

As for TJJ, we always looking forward to a great fete or lime!! This is Sherine reporting for Trini Jungle Juice.
