Long before Baha Men capitalized, long before Buster Poindexter made it known world wide, in 1984 Arrow sang "Ole ole, ole ole... feelin HOT HOT HOT!" The man knew what he was talking bout yes... he was talking bout the inside of club Ole Ole the night of Friday August 18th! But before that, let us back track a lil bit to how we ended up here on this night. As you well know (if not you should), every Friday night Trini South Boyz (TSB) host 'Madhouse on the Road' at Ole Ole in downtown Ft. Lauderdale. Normally the Soca room gets the smaller space, with Reggae and Hip Hop in the large main area. However, when you have non other that Mr. Machel aka the 'Tiapan of Soca' himself passing thru, you gotta switch things up. So Soca in the main room, Reggae in the small room... still it was not enough space, if yuh see people fuh so!!!!

Now if yuh reach Ole Ole after 12:30 is pressah, not only because the line does be long for days, but also you done miss out on the reduced prices TSB are known for charging those who are able to arrive early. TJJ reach the place before midnight, and so did everybody else. We ain't lying, the line was all down by the road, check the pics. Part of this was due to no one being admitted into the club as of yet, late setup and velvet rope business nah. Anyways TSB does always look for TJJ, so we leave out all them folks and gone round by VIP... if yuh see people!!! The line was not nearly as long, and by the time they sort out who really on guest list and who only trying to get on guest list, we were inside shortly after. As we entered the place was still pretty much empty as folks made their way through security, yuh blink yuh eye twice and faster than you can say, "Bake and Shark with pineapple," de place ram. We swear it was like that Brandy and Kanye video where people just kept appearing everywhere. Cool scenes, this ain't no buss fete for sure, wait did we say cool scenes, nope sorry, it seemed like with every person that stepped through the door the temperature went up another degree, so with close to 1000 people on the inside you do the math.

We have told you before, Madhouse on a Friday night is not a place to come and pose and ack stush and hoity toity. Yuh coming here, is because yuh coming to fete, and get in front the stage to sweat and wine up. And that is what the mostly college age crowd was doing, having a good time. We were encouraged by the appearance of Machel in the dance, yes he really here! We were discouraged by the fact that he did not take the stage till shortly after 3AM and left the stage shortly after 3AM.

This is another PSA (Party Service Announcement) from Trini Jungle Juice... "Buyer beware when you see a flyer advertising that a performer will be at a club, make sure to find out if said performer will actually be performing." There is a new trend in the industry were artistes HOST parties. All they do is get on the mic, hype up the crowd, and maybe sing a few tracks... which is what Machel did. Lesson learned, but what we do know is that when TSB come with their Socavivor series again this year for Miami Carnival 2007, it go be non-stop action and performances. Of course, TJJ will be covering, so stay tuned to this frequency for more updates.
