In going down to Chaguaramas, one knows you bound to encounter some sort of drama. We talking traffic problems here. So as expected we get hold back ah little. This time is because WASA digging up somewhere! However, it wasn't too bad and after the brief delay, we reached Pier 1 at about quarter to twelve.
Making our way unto the inside, is only Red, White and Black decking out de place while ISLANDpeople's staff were handing out huge candle like glow sticks to all patrons. TJJ officially in Represent - "The Celebration." Yes people, it's the eve of the 44th Independence Anniversary of T&T and people come out to celebrate. Aye why not ... holiday tomorrow, free premium drinks and oh gosh, de ladies! They sweet too bad!! ;-) As if that wasn't enough, there was a display of fireworks at about 2 AM followed by t a performance from The Alternative Quartet afterwards. This 4 member musical group sure getting real love here in Trini.
Everyone was in the celebrating mood, and as in everything else some celebrated ah little more than the rest by popping champagne corks at the 2 4 1 Champagne bar. Food which consisted of Doubles or Wings & Fries were also available at the back near poolside, at a small fee though. Well by the time the dance hit 3 AM everybody head seemed nice, the DJ was just blessing the crowd with selections and time was just blowing by. People didn't even know what time it was until the music just stopped abruptly in the middle of a song. Is then everyone began saying "Aye like de party dun? Waz de time? Wam to de DJ, is jus so he go stop??!!" Unfortunately these remarks didn't get the music going again. At minutes to five, folks began traipsing towards the exit.
TJJ later learned that an argument arose between certain police officers and two members of the ISLANDpeople committee, which resulted in their arrest on grounds of explicit language. The reason for the dispute ... apparently on determining what time the party would and should stop. Most folks didn't even realize, but unfortunately two people spent a couple hours well down at de police station. Not quite a nice way to end our story, but as Forrest Gump said, "It happens!" And we doh have to tell you what happens right??!! :-)
