Folks as we’re sure you’re well aware the rainy season have ‘dawned’ upon us. With all these showers of blessings you would think that Trini’s will lock up and stay indoors --- hmmm?? Apparently not! Drunky Munky Entertainment hosted their annual event Outback VI, on Saturday 2nd June, 2007 at the Pier 2 in Chaguaramas. Now this event was expected by many to be one of the bigger events since the 2007 Carnival season, and judging from the cars in the parking lot as we graced ‘Outback’ with our presence at midnight, it most certainly was.

Entry was the usual scenario. Patrons with tickets line up on the left, and to the right media or VIP names would be on a list. On toward the inside; Heineken Bars galore to the right and left as you enter under white tents, DJ’s on stage to the front of the crowd, music blasting, (partygoers had on their ‘free drinks look’ already – is midnight people.... save some for the fashionably late crew nah!! hahahaha - Only teeth yuh seeing - smiles), patrons dancing, drinking, wining, hands up in de air! Remember the rainy season, well, hmm, talk about mud!! Partygoers didn’t seem to care though. Pure vibes!! TJJ as customary, socialized, took pictures, took a lil wine here and there (remember we came to work eh... hmm), and ever so often we made our presence known to the available washrooms – Alco fuh so!! The crowd was lively, the music swinging, well yuh know is TRIBE 2k8, no doubt about that so is level Soca in yuh choca hahaha.... not to mention a little Reggae and Hip Hop in between, we versatile like that!

Although this year there were no performances, Outback VI’s crowd, which consisted of every creed and race, even Mexican – yes Mexicans hahaha.... well okay, a lot of people came out in their sombreros! – The party was the great!! Cutters as usual were available after the party, which was supposed to lock off at four, but patrons were given a fifteen minutes grace from the men in blue (po po).

Well, TJJ had a ‘funcoholic’ time – everyday you learn a new word - and so did the Drunky Munkies of ‘Outback VI’ who sifted their way out toward their vehicles for their journey home – seatbelts saves lives!

An excellent and memorable party we must say, except for the mud though... thanks for having us!

Coco Juice... out!!

Now you usually hear TJJ's spin on an event, so here's a little twist on tings. We asked a patron to share her feedback on her Outback 2007 experience, and here's what she had to say...

"Well lets just say I wish I could have never left The Outback. I never knew the wild could have been so much fun! From the start, the atmosphere was great... no problems to get a drink by the bar. The Heinekens were cold just to perfection. Yes it was a bit rainy but hey, who says the wild was perfect. The men had on deer hunting gear watching deer preys walk by...... deer preys looking great as usual... cause the ladies in the OUTBACK are FINE!!!!

Nice twist was that there was a Heineken trailer which was playing different music inside. It’s always nice when your party deviates from the norm. A special congratulations to the DJs High Fidelity/Less than Zero and XTC. You guys were AWESOME!! Honestly everyone who left that party would have said to themselves that the music arrangements was fantastic. Every song was as if the DJs were reading the minds of their followers. The crowd could not get enough. The back in times dub like Supercat, Lady Saw and nice mix of all Buju hits... then on to some older Soca. What’s a party without hearing "Nice time... we havin’ ah nice time," and a nice time we were all having. Then pumping us up the new hits, and as every great DJ knows, you end a great party with a great song. Of course, "Jumbie" by Machel!

Whoever missed Outback VI... you guys missed the wildest time of your life. To the committee, it was a great job very well organized. I always say, once your bar never runs out then you were well organized! ;-) So everyone would just have to go back to their ordinary lives until next year’s Return to the Wild ... Outback”
