After successful shows during the 2007 Carnival week, the "bacchanal" was back again at Queen's Hall for the March 16th-18th weekend. Reaching Queen's Hall for 8:30pm (the Little Carib Theatre is no longer as 3Canal grows in step with the overwhelming demand of their audience), the show began with a red light. One guitarist, one pianist, two percussionists and a 20' G5 Mac mixer dominated the top stage, which was made out of scaffolding materials. 3Canal came on the stage in all black clothing with a speck of red, singing "Welcome", as they joined the operatic singing of an afrocentric lady in a contemporary Victorian dress and wig.

The theatrical aspect of the 3canalBacchanal Show "None Shall Escape" consisted of over 20 dancers and actors; included stick fighters, kawpewee, and contemporary ballet and folk dancing. 3canal were featured as the minstrels, the chantwells and the storytellers. Although the play consisted of many scenes, it was the second scene that stood out for us, when the actors came out and shinned urging the audience to not let go of "ole mas." Main actors performed as Midnight Robber, Jamette, Dame Lorraine, Jab Jab, Black Indian and Baby Doll told the story of the dying "ole mas" and even touched up on the smelter plants. The costumes where created by Meiling. Hitting the sounds with a NY lounge beat, they closed off the first half of the show singing a remake of The Mighty Sparrow’s "Memories", which was tributed to the old time calypsonians and the late Andre Tanker and Ellis Chow Lin-On.

The second half of the show kicked off completely opposite to the first, as 3Canal stepped out in all white suits singing their inaugural hit "Blue". This half of the show was more theatrical and composition dancing grinding out a raw energy that the audience absolutely loved. The show was concluded with 3Canal's 2007 popular release, "Good Mornin'".

Folks we telling you, if 3Canal is in your area go see their show.... it's great! The elaborate costumes, colourful lighting, dancers and operatic background vocals make it a very original Carnival show.

Thank you 3Canal for letting Trini Jungle Juice capture the moment.
