The Christmas season is upon us once again and what better way to start off our “jingling” with none other than 'A Little Bit of Bling’. Yes folks, that was the theme for Millhouse’s Fashion Show. This 2007 Menswear Holiday Collection was held on Sunday November 18th at Coco Lounge, Woodbrook.

TJJ, (always there when you call, always on time) arrived at 6:00 p.m. just in time for the cocktails session. We entered through the normal routine, checking list for names, seeing that this event was by invitation only. On the right of the entrance Millhouse 10% discount cards were given away; bear in mind these are only valid until January 20, 2008. Also, on the right was a mini Hennessey bar, which we had the pleasure in taking advantage of the variety of drinks they had to offer, Hennessey Shanghai ... mmmm tasty. Keep in mind that all this was going on just as you entered Coco Lounge at the bottom of the stairs... we ent reach de action yet!

Moving along to the top of the stairs, you could have either gone to the left where there were seats to the outside, fresh air and well leg room per se, or you could have gone straight inside, to where the action was. We, obviously chose to be in all de ‘melee’.

Ooh la la! Now, Coco Lounge to us is one of the smallest liming spots in Trinidad. There were a lot of people inside, close to sixty (now we're counting the people inside, not outside so yuh could imagine if everyone decided to hang out inside). But it's all good. Photographers? Check! Synergy? Check! Red tapered runway? Check! Models? Check! TJJ? Check! Check! Check! It's Showtime!

Sexy models, which were only male (hence the name Millhouse Menswear) began to strut their stuff down the runway. The crowd was elated, until... until, until that dark, dreadful moment came. A fuse blew and it was only twenty minutes after the start of the show!! The problem was fixed after a while though, and the DJ whipped up some ‘brock way’ tunes to liven up the crowd.

Nonetheless, the models were back on the runway again, parading the clothing line from the menswear designer's collection. Some of the trendy styles were lily white suits, black suits with a touch of red, and some were clad in khaki and white. Familiar models like Kenwyn Millington, whom the crowd grew most fond of with his sexified (new word hehehe) Mohawk; the ever popular Kimba Sorzano, and Deon Baptiste, just to name a few (actually there were seven of them). They were exceptional! What better way to end off the show with Sir Anslem Douglas who also came out in an all black suit with a red scarf around his neck. He sang a few sounds that wooed the hearts of the crowd.

There's a good and bad in everything. The venue was definitely too small for a fashion show especially knowing that ‘we Trini’s’ love to dress and will be looking out for ‘what's hot and what's not’, but it turned out great in the end. The service, the cocktails, the music, the food, socialites, despite the hiccups, everything was splendificent!

We would like to say congrats to the designers, Gregory Mills and Coline Baptiste-Mills and thanks to Millhouse & Estuary Public Relations for having us. Shrimp anyone? Yum...
