As the day progressed and the afternoon reached a few clouds were spotted in the sky, however this by no means gave us any second thoughts of venturing down Chaguaramas for this novelty event.

Heading down to venue a party mood was soon set by the sight of the many beachgoers at Chaguaramas bay frolicking and partaking in their own ‘little all inclusive’ with drinks and food from the trucks of their cars - in a true typical Trini style beach lime.

Back to the main party though! If anyone did not know where Tucker Valley (the venue) was before heading down there, they definitely know how to find it now. There were huge signs strategically placed at various points directing partygoers along the route, ensuring that everyone (& more) who suppose to be there, would reach the event and not get lost.

Well we pulled in the party around 4:50pm being the typical outta time Trinis that we were (de party suppose to be from 2-8pm). When we arrived there was a moderate crowd in a more kind of relaxed, laid back vibe just enjoying the free drinks and taking in the music. The drinks were good we must say. Although ‘Uncle Johnnie’ was missing from the line up, other premium drinks did a good job at making up for his absence. More importantly there was no sticking at the bar which tends to be most people pet peeve when it relates to a free drinks party, especially premium drinks.

After settling in the party for a while the cloud cover became more apparent and soon the threat of rain became a reality, with not a heavy downfall but just a slight drizzle coming down. This sent most of the crowd under tents and huts for cover, however a few already ‘charged up’ people decided to make the best of it a partied to the music in the rain. The rain however only lasted a short while as the clouds soon blew away leaving behind only clear skies.

A little while after, the party began getting filled as Trinidad numerous beautiful ladies stepped into the dance to the pleasure of ourselves and the rest of fellahs (mostly gapers) at the party. When we say beautiful women .... we mean Trinidad finest of different creeds, races, ages everything... lets just say a very wide variety of ladies (to chose from .... hmm).

As the party became more and more crowded there was a greater buzz than before although most people were still in a laid back, ‘quiet’ mould more socializing with one another while having a few drinks and taking in the music. The music was also really good, balanced with the selections well appreciated by the partiers (ourselves & the crew we bounced up there in particular.... won’t call any names ... hehe). This laid back mood at that time did cause a lil stress in our pictures taking venture as most people were not as willing as they would have normally been.

However this quickly changed as both the alcohol and the infectious music began to take its effect and people began to literally ‘free up, free up’ themselves. So you done know the pictures started to flow after a while as the party soon got into full swing.

As with most novelty events, Trinidad's who’s who were also out in the mix, just a few include the Prince himself Brian Lara, his old team mates Dwayne Bravo and Mervyn Dillon, also Michelle Khan and some others who we probably think we should not mention (not meant to be an insult to anyone). The party eventually finished about an hour later than scheduled, about 9pm with most people staying right to the end, taking in every moment they could have gotten.

All and in all, the party was definitely a successful one that patrons seemed to enjoy a whole lot of. The drinks were good, the music great and the food although a bit scarce was okay. It is definitely a party you would not want to miss next time around.
