Flight Cruise’s October installment ... What really happened at Flight Cruise?

As many of you know, rain fell consistently de day before and was quite threatening on the day of the cruise as well. But you also know that a little rain isn't gonna stop us Trini's from partying like rock stars ... and that we are!! As we parked the car at Pier 2 running late as ever, we realized that there was still a lot of partygoers yet to board the Treasure Queen to my relief. Thank God! As if that was not enough, we couldn't believe it when we saw some people still looking for tickets to get on board. Good luck folks ... we hear de boat sell off!!

As we got onto the ship, we notice that there was almost triple the people on the ship as compared to those outside, and talk bout hott girlz ... lord have mercy! Greeted by some friends it felt like I was the only person that was seeing the rain falling, as they didn't seem to care less. Within about twenty minutes of boarding the ship, we began pulling off from the dock. Now no matter how much people liming on de boat, de party doh officially begin until de boat pulls off. It's then de real vibes and action does begin!

The DJs began hyping up the crowd with the latest dancehall music, from artist like Vybz Kartel, Elephant Man, Movado and one of Jamaica's youngest sensation QQ, who is know for his hit songs "Snookie" and "Room Ram". I had to stop snapping for a lil' bit to get my groove on, yes! We got busy to some "Raging Bull" and "Swing It Weh". Large up Umba & Barry of Jugglers! Then moving through the crowd we saw some BESS chicks doing the Hula Hoop and Hott Wuk which is a favorite of the fellas everywhere. Some of the ladies got down and dirty and definitely pleased the guys. DJs began to mix the dancehall with the soca music which created even more vibes for the party. Seeing the Carnival 2008 is just around the corner, a lot of the hype came from the soca session. A favorite among everyone was the ever popular "Wukking Up" by Patrice as well as Machel ‘s "Wining Season".

As the action continued, we moved to the higher level to get a bird's eye view, and boy wat can ah say ... it was scandalous. People wining down to the ground as they do on Carnival Monday and Tuesday. At times, I myself didn't have any kind of conduct wining like ah criminal ;-) My most loved drink Uncle Johnnie was flowin' full force and from the looks of things Uncle Johnnie definitely holds the award for being de official drink of Flight Cruise... hands down!

One of the highlights of the cruise was when the captain announced that there was gonna be an after party on the Ocean Peal. This created much more hype but it also made some people hold off on the wining and drinking for lil' bit so they would have some energy for the after party.

Sailing the usual chartered course to Port Of Spain's port and back, we docked at Pier 2 a little after 7 PM. Here most patrons made their way from one ship to another with the great news of not having to pay any cover charge. Within about 45 minutes the after party began to heat up. People stared filling up the dance floor and bussing some moves. Everyone was looking a bit tired though but as soon as the intro to "Crank Dat" from Soulja Boy stared playing, everyone got energy from somewhere and began bussing their lil' Crank Dat, Superman and Robocop.

Unfortunately, that excitement was short lived because of some chaos and mayhem that ensued in the lobby of the Ocean Peal with some folks getting out of hand. As such the good captain sounded the “crack horn” which brought an end to the party. Apologizing for the inconvenience, he thanked patrons for coming out as everyone disembarked.

All in all, the cruise was a lot of fun, and TJJ will definitely be at the next one ready to party like rock stars all over again.

Kevin for the TJJ Fam
