It was a cold and wet night but Trini Jungle Juice was ready to fete as always. It's the official Album Release Party in Toronto for Mr. Slaughter's 2007 Soca CD titled "Port of Spain", so you know TJJ had to represent since de Soca definitely in we veins!! Rolling up to The Docks at 12am was just perfect timing.... and although the inside was not ram, the the vibe was jus right. It wasn't yuh typical hot and sweaty fete where yuh bumpin' into any and everyone and spilling drinks, it was a comfortable and chill fete.

Anticipating the arrival of Mr. Slaughter the crowd was getting more and more antsy as Soca Sweetness, D'Bandit, Chief, and Court Jester were spinning some sweet sweet Soca chunes to the voice of de man with de steel, E Man. Not to sound like a broken record, but "One More Time" and "Jumbie" from the tiapan of Soca, Machel Montano, had the vibes pumpin. Partygoers also went wild when "Fete After Fete" by the artist formerly known as Iwer and "Cold Sweat" by Crazy played.... all chunes reppin 2007.

Mr. Slaughter jumped on the stage in his blue suit jacket with the Daffy Duck emblem on the right and 4ASIA in rhinestones on the left all to inject us with SOCA IN MEH VEINS.... SOCA IN MEH BLOOOOODD!!! "Spread The Love" is deinitely a big, big chune! The injection led the crowd closer to the stage and when TJJ looked around there was more and more people sneaking into de party. Heehee. By the time we were jammin' to "Feeling Nice" at Carnival time...... woman in front and man behind, the Next Level had more than enough people to enjoy this fete. Drinks on, lights off and Slaughter up close and personal was a sweet mix.

For such a cold and wet night we all made the best of it, and enjoyed the sounds of not only Mr. Slaughter, but all the DJs who were spinning out of control.
