Being the first Caribbean website to take our viewers global, it's our job to bring you entertainment that's always new and fresh. By now, we are sure that some of you are probably tired hearing us say how “TJJ heading down Chaguaramas or some West Side venue to check out ah fete!” So as we continue to take things to a different level or in this case, a different scene, de Local TJJ Team geared up and headed down South. For those of you who only lime in the P.O.S district, we venturing past de Lighthouse; and for those who live in the East but lime mostly in the POs vicinity, then we heading south of de Caroni Bridge. Yup all de way down to Sando! Sting nightclub to be exact.

So it’s the beginning of TJJ’s exclusive coverage of the nightlife in South Trinidad. What we cud say bout the scene in South Trini? Well it had Celebs (Johnny Soong 1st club). Then there is Screamers (Chutney vibes), Platinum (Hip-Hop, Dancehall vibes), and of course Hi rpm (Alternative/Rock vibes and tineey boopers galore). Also there is the newly opened lounge Prive and club Space.

After checking out the vibes at some of the mentioned nightspots, we pulled up to Sting at about 11 PM. We could see the crowd moving in gradually, not like some other night spots where 4 people are allowed in every 15 minutes (sorry but we nah calling any names). On the inside we noticed the crowd being a little on the mature end, but yet still it had de usual youngsters and not too mention, what looked like ah Maxi Taxi load of feters from up North, judging from how many familiar faces we see.

Of course after that long ride to reach down South, we had to drink ah lil' something by the bar and relax ah bit all while monitoring de scene. With one of Britain's greatest Reggae bands set to bless the stage later, it was only fitting to hear Reggae music to warm up the session. Before any stage activity began we moved around a little, checking out the DJs, V.I.P area, other bars and of course, the people. Big the South massive for the TJJ love... paparazzi time! **Snap** **Snap** On the inside they had the resident DJs Deon and Marcus, and from the outside Tweez of 96.1 FM and 3rd Bass of Hot 93.5 FM.

Around 12.30 AM the DJ introduced to our surprise, local band Orange Sky. That would kinda explained the large North crowds’ presence. Orange Sky as usual put down an impressive performance, with lead vocalist Nigel Rojas hyping up the crowd for the main attraction.

At 2:30 AM we turned our attention stage side for the main attraction of the night. A Roots Reggae outfit out of the UK called Steel Pulse. The band comprised of David Hinds (lead vocals, guitar), Basil Gabbidon (lead guitar, vocals) and Ronnie McQueen (bass). A lil' history.... Formed in 1975, this band has attained much accreditation for itself overtime; from commitments to fighting injustice, efforts to educate the masses and even being the first Reggae band ever to perform during the inaugural festivities in Washington DC. They also had huge international success which resulted in a Grammy award for their "Babylon The Bandit" album.

Their performance for the night was well worth the wait (and for us, the drive as well). In their near one and a half hour long performance, Steel Pulse belted out popular hits such as "Bodyguard", "Steppin’ Out", "Not King James Version", "Worth His Weight In Gold (Rally Round)" and "Life Without Music". It was just wicked authentic Roots Reggae vibes, and the Sting crowd was obviously loving it as on several occasions we heard folks chanting along to the band's hits.

After Steel Pulse’s performance, the party didn't go on for much longer. Most patrons began leaving, and so we followed suit. TJJ would like to say special thanks to Sean L. of Sting for allowing us to pass thru. We're looking forward to spending some more quality time down South Trini.
