Finally the big day was here, Saturday, but more importantly it was the big big show to culminate all the weekend's events for the Tempo Turns 2 Anniversary Celebration. After spending some time checking out some of the eats and sights around St. Croix, it was time to head to the Fair Ground. Expecting a massive show this evening, TJJ send reinforcements for the team that was already in country so expect to catch some clips of some of the performances on TJJ TV. Now the show was supposed to start at 4pm (so they say), TJJ rolls up bout.... shall we say after 4pm, but with rumours that the concert lasts till almost 4AM, we knew things were just getting hot as we arrived. It was a cloudless night in St. Croix, with the stars out in their full glory, both in the heavens and on the ground! We were just in time to catch the very end of Jovi Rockwell moving the crowd and get a few close up photos of the dimples. Thanks to the TEMPO backstage staff, we were able to get our media accreditation and All Access passes, so you know what that meant... yep straight to the bar in VIP to sip a lil' something in our TEMPO cups. While there we noticed that the Carib Girls were in attendance preparing their swag for the crowd. Under the VIP tented area were the bar and a loooooong buffet table was setup.

In the backstage area, which itself was big enough to hold it's own concert, there was always a flurry of activity taking place. There was a lighted TEMPO backdrop for snapping photos of all the artists and VJs Hector and Nikki D were busy with their own camera crew doing interviews backstage and in the crowd. Together with all the other media outlets conducting their own on and off camera interviews, we were busier than a one armed man in the 200m breast stroke! Notch of Born Jamericans put down a nice performance with a lot of Reggeton flavor, but also sang some of his classics from his Born Jamericans days. By this time the lovely Ce'Cile was on stage giving the crowd her all, even inviting DJ Poppy Pop on stage as her special invited dancer... lucky guy!

Jabba (Massive B, Hot 97) and Jahbami served as the MCs for the show and there was a quick and smooth transition between most acts, with the DJ keeping the music going for longer breaks. Right after Ce'Cile was TnT's own Ziggy Rankin giving a very spirited performance. Ziggy buss up the dance with his big tune "Love How Yuh Wining" ... a TJJ favourite for 2007! We took a break from in front the stage to check out the scenes backstage to who else was around, and next up was Barbados #1 Soca Band Krosfyah. So one time it's back to the front of the stage because their performance was not to be missed, and Krosfyah certainly got the crowed revved up with a selection of all their popular hits. A far cry from the Edwin (Yearwood) who earlier that morning, fell asleep in 1st class before the plane even leave.... could not be awoken for nuttin! The flight attendant eventually had to literally buckle the man seat belt for him! We hear a passenger bawl, "He dead?" That is the kinda thing you can't make up.... real kicks on the road. Krosfyah is definitely one of our favourites, and we also got an exclusive interview with them at TEMPO Turns 2, so stay tuned.

Some folks in the crowd were having too much of a good time, getting as much camera time at the artist (see photo), but say wha, yuh buy yuh ticket and yuh reach early and up front.... by all means, have ah time!! After Krosfyah's performance, the crowed was hyped up now, and Denise 'Saucy Wow' Belfon was just what the doctor ordered to keep the level going. And this time, Mr. Man made it from the front of the crowed to on the stage with Saucy Wow (see photo), but he wasn't ready for Saucy!!

Now the energy level gone higher again, and we're thinking whoever performs next, have their work cut out. Eh eh, well it's Mr. Energy himself who took the stage, you all know him as Mr. Vegas! Be sure to watch our Interview with Mr. Vegas done the day after the concert at Karib Fest'07 on TJJ TV. If you have never seen this guy live before, it's worth the money! He started off by climbing the speaker scaffolding, to get a better look at the crowd (see photos 144-146). We have seen performers interact with their audience before, coming right to the edge of the stage to touch and be touched, however there was a 10 foot gap between the audience and the front of the stage, so that didn't work for Mr. Vegas!! He climbed down off the stage and went to meet his audience, not ONCE, not TWICE but 3 TIMES! On the final occasion, he found himself over the barricade and smack dab into the middle of the crowd without security. We telling you, it's worth the price of admission! Doh talk for Mr. Vegas' dancer, lawdi lawdi lawdi.....

After that it couldn't go any higher. There was a welcomed break as TEMPO tried to giveaway the car they had promised, but the 5 lucky folks were not able to find the working key in the box of a million keys. So to close out the night, they flipped the vibe of the concert and took the heights down to a conscious level. After all, the theme was "Badness Outta Style," and to do this was none other than The Messenger himself... Luciano. As he stood off to the side of the stage he could be seen preparing with a blessing, and he was already blessing the crowd with his voice before he even got onto the stage. Luciano then proceeded with tune after tune after tune to the delight of the TEMPO Turns Two crowd. What a fitting way to end the show. A great time was had by all.

We can't wait for TEMPO Turns 3... they are here to stay, so TJJ will be there!
