The Julius Caesar Entertainment Company presented The Picnic, its first annual charity family day.

This all started with a new idea to not only focus on the party scene and entertaining adults but to be an entertainer of all (even children). This new focus was targeted by The Julius Caesar Entertainment Company. They presented THE PICNIC to give us all a fun way of ending our August vacation.

Following Yogi Bear signs we made our way to Yellow Stone Park, Santa Barbara Boulevard in Santa Cruz on August 26th (some of us came right after spending time on Maracas Bay). The grounds was filled with different booths, a well stocked bar, a bMobile tent, a bouncy castle, a laid-back spot for women courtesy The Garden Club (even a Johnson Baby changing section and Johnson’s giveaways). Wine bistro, More Vino, provided a variety of snacks to nibble on and wine to sip!!! Wow, they made sure and accommodated all mothers fuh sure, because after having a long week looking after your husband and kids this would have been GREATLY refreshing!

While daddies played football, kids ran all about the place with their pets or tiered themselves at the bouncy castle or even had their faces painted. Did we mention the huge Sponge Bob Square Pants piñata filled with sweets and toys? Um... yeah, that was eventually attacked by the children.

To us, the highlight of the event was the hot dog eating competition! Hahah... it was the funniest thing ever! Even adults joined the children on this one. Having ONE bottle of water and 3 hot dogs, contestants had to finish all three hot dogs 1st in order to win a picnic basket (which was a very nice one we might add) courtesy bMobile.

Speaking of bMobile, there were some really cool giveaways from them and their tent was a promotional gesture promoting the whole “my line” and “B-Chat services”. If one was interested in knowing the latest cell phone releases the Blackberry®, the Curve and the Pearl were on display as well.

One might also add that this event was appreciated by all who turned up (maybe even by supporters who didn't). It was a different kind of enjoyment. Knowing us Trini's, we’re always looking for a lime and may just go where the crowd is; not knowing what the focus of the crowd really is. In case some of us didn’t know, the main focus of this event was “charity” and we all know that charitable events are usually written down on good books. Julius Caesar encouraged us to donate canned foods to Rotary Club’s Kids In Need of Direction (KIND). TJJ took note of this and I’m sure others did too. This was a nice day!
