Well folks iz Halloween, the end of October, the month of "horror" and "macabre", children screaming at costumes, trick or treating for food to rotten their already rotten teeth, wearing costumes in an attempt to scare people, and what are we doing..... we are going to club Worship to celebrate in true Caribbean Back in Times style with Babash Events – Thriller.

Worship, situated in Moorgate, the funky two storey club seems like the home ground for Babash Events – I love it - consistency is good. A change might be warranted soon, but consistency is good. Tonight we are partying both upstairs and downstairs because it's their first big bram so they have the entire venue for themselves. The theme – old school music. We going back in times and bringing back all the tunes that had us bubbling and dancing in the 80's and 90's.

It's Halloween so we dressing up. I found my grandmothers sexiest sixty's gown and I.... okay I'm kidding. In my priest outfit, I arrived at Worship minutes after ten just in time to get some food from D'Corner Shop which was situated on the upstairs level. On the menu was buss-up-shut and curry goat with cole slaw. Sort of a weird mix, but it was tasty. They were also giving free doubles, though it was not the best... ah hear it didn't agree with one man.... bless him!

Downstairs was the real mix! On the 1s and 2s was Mr. Lawrence aka V for Vendetta (photo) from Vendetta Sound... uhm yeah yeah... spinning retro music such as ole school rockers riddims with artists likes Gregory Issacs, Beres Hammond, Pinchers, Cocoa Tea and Everton Blender. Following the old school dancehall, Vendetta brought out the rap, the hardcore rap such as Craig Mack, Notorious B.I.G. and Doug E. Fresh. People were enjoying the vibe downstairs. "You won't be around next year, my raps too severe, kicking mad flava in ya ear"... I hope Babash you around next year eh!!!

Che In the Mixx stepped in at about midnight to take over the music front and decided that Soca was the item on the list. It's too many songs to list out .... too many things to say about what people were doing, you just had to be there!!!! When last you hear Chinese Laundry's "Short Pants"? There was even a woman who with her dancing partner rolled up his pants legs and then proceeded to wine on him to that song. The Soca was sweet, I felt I was in Gentleman's Ball. Only old school Soca!! Boom!!!

Signal to Noise and Clyde De Outlaw - direct from Trinidad - came on at about minutes after one in the morning and began their set with some old school jive. Couple people well were doing the twist and one particular dance duo were just doing the choreographed moves from Pulp Fiction – John Travolta & Uma Thurman. "Beat It", and of course "Thriller" were all must played songs ... and of course the one or two patrons were doing the dances in the music video. Signal being the designated mic man, was highly entertaining for the night with his witty comments such as "Nigel, your parents are waiting outside, time to go home!"; "You all remember the days of Great Race Weekend or ya'll were in pampers?"; "Nigel, your mother is still outside, and she is getting upset!" "Ya'll remember the days of school disco, with sweat box? QRC, CIC, Fatima, Bishops?" Crowd hypers, and just pure entertainment. Clyde even played songs from "Party Time" days where the break dancing was the real scene.... we didn't see any break dancers though.

So the bram was scheduled to start at 9 pm and finishing at 3 am. But dig this, at minutes to two in the morning, the clocks in London go back an hour... so we partying for that extra hour baby!!! It was all part of the hype.... cool though. Che was on the set when the clocks went back and man was the crowd excited when the hour was given back to us... more Soca baby, more ... like Britney gimmie more!!!! Nice vybz thus far and that extra hour was also good for the alcoholics in the crowd. Crews and crews were buying by the bottle!!!

Highlights of the night so far... Ha! There were the costumed people such as Freddie Krueger, the two V for Vendetta fellas, my two sexy Mortal Kombat people Kitana and Mileena, the slim wining Cowgirl, a couple Devils, a couple Medusas and even the sexy Referee with her whistle. And there was a wonderful couple well dancing partners who while dancing, the young lady collapsed on the floor and proceeded to continue dancing on the floor as if it was her bedroom... talk bout excitement!!! The crowd proceeded to clap and cheer her on while she was doing her thing thang thang on the floor.... what did sir senor do? He was just standing there looking on at the performance.

The party roughly finished after 4 am in the morning (with that extra hour). Yeah we were grooving to nine hours of ole school back in times music! Best night, Babash Events... you on a roll. This is #3... people are talking.... we seeing new faces... keep it coming!
