Once again, Island Jams Entertainment did not fail to disappoint as they packed The Atrium nightclub on Saturday April 12th, 2008. This time around, they teamed up with 3Dymez Entertainment, carefully selecting an artist that would get the Atlanta partygoers to show continued support, especially after they welcomed both Super Cat & Jr. Reid (A Night of Legends) a few weeks ago. Only one artist could force the ladies to be in ah rush on this night..... that's right, it was 'De Girls Dem Sugar' .... the original BEENIE MAN!

Prior to Beenie's arrival, DJ Chigga and mic man Pumpy of Love People Sound represented the Caribbean well, fling down some big tunes as the crowd quickly filled The Atrium. They set the tone for the evening to come. The night's progression continued with Black Talon rocking the ATL massive with real styles. The party room scene began to look like ah fete .... perhaps since Atlanta Carnival right around de corner (Memorial Weekend)!!

Before Beenie Man and his band hit the stage, MC for the night, Empress Fiyah, kept the energetic crowd on their toes with her well carried voice, as she introduced a few guest artists. New York native, Lia Music, pleased the crowd from early, not only with her beauty but with her voice. Marvin from Jamaica also kept the flow, enticing the 'female front-stagers' with his charm.

And like a Track Team running a 4x1 relay, the baton was passed on to newcomer reggae sensation.... DEMARCO, who performed to his massive 2008 hit "Fallen Soldier" after a few renditions of some of his less notable tunes. Demarco was well received by the 2000 plus crowd on hand, and his departure left some women screaming for more. Now Demarco's departure meant only one thing .... that the baton was now being handed over to the man of the night! Around 3:15 AM, Porscha Fox (of V103FM in Atlanta), the sexiest voice on radio, had the honor of introducing of one of the biggest entertainers in the Dancehall business period. And as soon as she called his name - before the crowd could even catch their breath - a distinct voice came from backstage....

"Give me some bass leh me sing something first .... meh goh so ....
Oh Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah..... Oh Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah....
Oh Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah, Nah..... Oh Nah, Nah, Nah Nahhhhhh ...... It's all about Romy......"

On came Anthony Moses Davis aka Beenie Man dressed to kill, wearing a blue and red patterned sports jacket with a feathered sweater and a Kangol. The packed Atrium went crazy ... and Trini Jungle Juice (TJJ) was right there to bring it all to you.

The never tired, energetic, flamboyant and charismatic performer who appeared to have not aged since Sting 1996, gave the Atlanta crowd what they were starving for .... entertainment to kept them on their feet!! Beenie's performance could have been compared to that lecturer in class everyone liked. At times, it seemed that Beenie Man stood up and shared his life experiences with the audience verbally, capturing their attention, and in the same breath began to sing to them poetically. If one should ask, "Who is the ultimate stage performer?" Beenie Man would definitely be on the Top 5 of everyone's list ... well at least in Atlanta!!

After singing such hits like "Miss L.A.P", "Dude", "Everyone Falls in Love", "Bad Man", "Who Am I", "So Hot", "Heaven On Earth", "Monster Look" and many many more, the term 'time flies when you're having fun' really makes sense because it was 5:20AM when Beenie finally sang his last song and left the stage.

The TJJ had an opportunity to hang back stage with the renowned artist for a few minutes before he was rushed back to his hotel. And we were happy to see North Carolina native, Faith, who had one thing on her mind that night - to hug Beenie Man - get her wish, just before he climbed into his awaiting car. smile

Stay tuned for more upcoming concert vibes from Island Jams Entertainment on TriniJungleJuice ... Sim Simma!!
