Hey all! Did I mention that I love fashion? Well I got my fill at BK Style Foundation’s sixth season of BK Fashion Weekend. Brooklyn certainly did rule the runway! I have to mention that I would have liked to see such a presentation in a more trendy neighborhood. We were behind God’s back in Williamsburg! First of all we got lost so we thought we were sooo late. It turns out that in true CP time we were very much on time! In fact we were waiting for show time for almost an hour! WDA? (wha de arse?) Well it’s a good thing that we were occupied by the open bar as we were afforded VIP status…of course! smile Front row seats, right next to the editor from Elle magazine, the Daily News and across from super model Stacy McKenzie (Fifth Element), recording artist Tweet and Carlos of Making The Band season 4.

While waiting we enjoyed samples at a wine sorbet bar, yet another new flavored water called Sonu distributed by their models and full manicure service with organic products provided by Wink! Yes, I did say wine SORBET! It was soooo good ... yummmE! Picture movie night with your girls or a date and you’re getting drunk off of a frozen dessert! Lol! Soon it was show time and well you would not believe that a porter potty was staring back at me ever time I looked up! Lawd! WDA? ... on to the show!

Dee Vasquez of Fuze TV was the host for the evening and she set it off by introducing opening entertainment. Their sound was okay and the lead singer had a great voice. The style was like a funky, jazzy, rock soul and the lyrics raised quite a few eyebrows including mine! “I’ll call you daddy…” Soon the lead singer stripped down to a barely there cami dress and almost “put it on” a young lady from the audience!!!! Wait… Holy Burlesque Show Batman! Eh? Their set ended with her “rose girls” distributing long stemmed yellow roses to only the women in the audience… hmmmmm.

Model time! First up was Peacocky (peacocky.com), and what a treat it was for the ladies because the male models ruled for about 10 mins. Some of them had a bad case of the nerves though. A line of trendy graphic tees shown paired with plaid slacks, the random tie and also colorful denim jeans. There was also the use of The t-shirts I would recommend for the layered look or just chillin with jeans. Fellas you know what I mean. Samoy Lenko (samoylenko.com) featured a delightful line of pretty, feminine dresses. Of course I had my favorites … can you guess which one? smile It would have been even better if all of the models stomped the hell out of the runway Ms. Jay style though! Next up was Catou (catoucouture.com). First of all, the first model came out in a red bikini (photo)!!! Anyway, Catou's stuff was fierce!!! You could feel that the models knew they looked hot. His style is bold and eccentric and he quite literally made statements (photo)! His attempt at a woman’s suit was fabulous also … I want one!!! The show stopper was the blinged out bowtie though! It was like … wow!

The evening wrapped up with a young lady who had the weirdest series of questions. I thought she was a comedy act! She wanted to know if she looked like Wendy Williams, Rupaul or Tyra Banks ................ crickets ................... well I couldn’t believe that she really wanted an answer! Lol … cuz I had a few answers! Hahahahahah! Sadly her act was a snooze and folks left!

Sunday - Finale Night

Would you believe we got lost again??!! Doors were to open at 5pm, but of course because of the late start on Friday, we chose to take our time and arrived at 6:30pm. Guess what though ... they still did not start on time!!! Whatever yes, on to the show!

The turnout was bigger this time around as it was the finale. Lost of celebrity sightings!!! Folks were waiting for their manicures this time around. I guess word got out!! smile Even the energy in the air was different. You could just feel that folks were ready for mingle and network etc. Oh BTW the VIP bar was even better ... can you say scotch!! Heehee ... don’t worry, we took it real easy!

The first presentation was by Feusik. Lots of color and texture. The line also featured my favorite, the bustier (corset)! Whoo hoo … ladies let me tell you, you cannot go wrong in one of them no matter what size! The dresses were very fabulous indeed if that’s your thing. However remember there’s always an occasion for fabulocity on that level! I definitely fell in love with the baby blue number. I just love ruffles!

Okay, Alador & Smith was another line of men's graphic tees with catchy phrases. Very eighties. Remember the movies Crush Groove and Fame? I was getting flashbacks. The use of the ikat as an accessory also stood out. Psst ... you know what else stood out? Heheheheheee ... the models! smile Okay I’ll behave ... sorry you just had to be there girls.

Ooooooh! Next up was a treat for pet lovers. Eccentric Pet Collections hit the stage on a very nervous paw ... quite literally! I am the proud mama of a Lhasa Apso who hates top knots far less an outfit!!! Big up to Lola … a very fabulous Maltese who wears Gucci and Ed hardy! Anyway … First onstage was the cutest blue eyed, blonde cutie pie little girl to set up the cute factor. Then it was a very scared Akita. Poor thing I could not even get a good shot! The mini Yorkie had to be held showing the fashionable shoulder blanket. Doh talk bout the pig! Yes I said PIG!!! As in Babe!! The poor thing was dragged down the runway skating!!! I think the model with it was just trying to get it over with. Lawd … the audience was yelling at her to pick her up … oh oh … poor chunkaloonks! Meanwhile I know some of you was sizing it up for a stew!! Lol!! There was also mama pig and a few parrots wearing weaves! Lol!!! Hahahah!! Maaaannn … one of dem took flight swooping down on folks in the audience … I dam near fell out of my seat laughing! It was hilarrr!! I have to admit, that was a nice twist to shake up the show.

Right on cue Riddem Driven lick pure shots pon de stage!!! Their runway music was straight VP artists and you would swear I in de dance! The line was hot hot hot!!! Graphic tees of course, but styled with leather jackets, demin at it’s trendiest and a shoe game that made you want to shout … "Fiiiyyuuurreeee!!!!" Fellas just give Ms. Chin (riddimdrivenclothing.com) yuh money please!!! Oh and ladies … truss just check the gallery! AND to top off that line Red Fox mash down de dance…ah mean runway!

Inkslingers (inspired by T-Pain) closed the show with some very interesting pieces. Very colorful and blinged out! Hey the shows were awesome. I always enjoy checking out the fashion scene. Stay tuned cuz I’ll keep bringing it to you!!! Rick, thanks a bunch ... see you in the spring for fall!

Petite … sachay chante … mwah mwah!
