Who remembers watching shows like Smurfs, Flinstones, Fat Albert and The Cosby Show? I sure do! Well for all the Children of the 80’s we reminiscin’ this weekend on board the Enterprise 2000 brought to you by Jay, Earl and Thane (J.E.T.).

The boat was setting sail at 8pm, so that gave de TJJ crew ample time to organize de coolers and head downtown. We arrived at the dock around 6:30pm and the parking lot was jam packed ... every car trunk was open and cups were being passed around. The one thing ah must say that ah luv about West Indian people is dey generousity.. lol! Ah say that becuz if yuh didn’t have ah cup in yuh hand somebody was walkin' up to yuh to fill that void! smile

Vibes in de parking lot were rel nice, so once we started boarding yuh know everybody head bad ah’ready! Many fete-go’ers came out in 80’s attire to support the theme. Plus, with prizes being given out for the most original outfits, they added ah lil' extra umph! Once we set sail, on de one’s and two’s takin’ us way back were DR. JAY and JASON CHAMBERS (Soca Therapy and Mid Day Mix respectively on FLOW 93.5fm) and holdin’ down the mic were our fav Toronto mc’s DIRTY DES and E MAN. When ah tell yuh, it was rel ole’ school vibes ... from ole’ soca to reggae to hip hop and dance, de boat was rockin’boi! Oui pappa!!!! Chunes like Madonna’s “Holiday,” to Cameo’s “Candy,” Eddy Grant’s “Electric Avenue” to Toto’s “Africa!” Track after track we were jammin’! Michael Jackson’s “Off The Wall,” Cindy Lauper’s “Girl’s Just Want To Have Fun” and Aly-us’ “Follow Me” had de boat feelin’ like it was about to tip over! Lol! From one side of the boat to the other, we were doing de “Thriller,” de “Bus Stop” and of course de “Electric Slideeeeee!” Some ladies were holding down the dancefloor on the lower level, doing some sweeet breakdances. Ah dunno where these fellas pulled out these records but from de crowd reaction, you could tell they were happy they were found.

Now doh forget, there were prizes for the best dressed individuals, so there was no stickin’! The judges took a walk around to check out all the competition on board as fete-go’ers assisted in choosing the winners. The lucky winners were presented with the DVD editions to Name That Tune, Family Feud, Trivia Pursuit, The Price Is Right and Let’s Make A Deal ... rel games breddah! Ah wish de TJJ crew coulda been in de competition .. hee hee! Once the prizes were given out, people’s feet keep movin’ and bumpa’s kept shakin’! Vibes were all around de boat, no matter where u were – u were brought back in times. It’s been a while since de TJJ T DOT crew went to an 80’s party, and ah must say it was definitely worth it! Reminiscin’ on de good ole’ days when we used to party haaaaaard .. de young days .. lol!

The boat docked around 12ish but that didn’t mean the lime was over. As we chipped off the boat with candy bracelets and popeye sticks, we headed straight to de cars to continue de party. Trunks were opened again and coolers were pulled out ... need I say more??!!

Wild Child of the 80’s,
Mizz Kayz!
