It’s J’ouvert morning here at Bayside Hut, and everybody chipping down the road along side Generation X big truck. The excitement has begun, Miami Carnival is around the corner, and what a great way to start it off.

When you reach the entrance, and you see cars parking on the swale, you know the dance ram. There was $5 parking inside of Bayside Hut, which was fairly reasonable. If you see the line to get in ... lawd ... is a good thing we see important people on the outside, so before you know it we were on the inside. Thanks Gen X ... it is always a pleasure!! smile Anyway, allyuh should know by now, the first place we went to was by de bar. I got meh Johnnie and coconut water inside a fresh coconut - you can’t beat dat!! Bwoy, that was quenching. De man responsible for that drink was Nigel with the official coconut truck. So allyuh look out for Nigel when yuh go to Gen X fetes .... jus look for the coconuts!!

As I was vibing, and starting to take pics, I heard, “wine on you ... give me your number ... let meh take ova”. South Florida based Soca artist Sizwe C was on stage performing, as the ladies flocked to the front of the stage, wining and getting on to his performance. When you hear dat song ("Wine On You"), you can’t help but move your waist.

The DJ line up dat night was House Arrest, Eternal Vibes and Sound Rev. Special guest DJ Rene came from O-Town (Orlando). From that line up alone, you know de music was sweeeet.

The Gen X girls were in full force, making sure all de people and dem who fraid paint, got paint!! These girls were on the stage with spray bottles of paint and they were not settling for any excuses ... not even mine about having meh camera equipment, because when I got home all de back of meh clothes was well painted. smile TJJ's Party McFly came out dressed to impress for a J'Ouvert fete, but when he realize the Gen X girls were beginning to prowl around, he disappear. Minuted later, I got a text from him talking about he gone. *lol* He did fraid paint that night!!

The Gen X big truck moved off about 4am, and drove on de perimeter road alongside Bayside Hut with DJ Sound Rev and House Arrest ... dat is when all the jamishness took place! Is nothing like chipping down de road alongside de music truck ... that is the true essence of Carnival.

After all dat chipping, I worked up an appetite, so I went by the food area and was amazed by the food selection. It had roti, doubles, corn soup, bake and shark, BBQ chicken, fish, and pineapples. But after a fete, there is nothing like corn soup (right TRW?) ... that soup was so satisfying!!

Well until the next flex folks ... there are sooooooo many fetes coming up. Are you ready for Carnival?
