Arriving to my destination later than planned, I was in a bit of a fowl mood but that quickly changed when I noticed the spectacular entrance to the Hidden Dragon location. It was creative and breathtaking to see the detail the artist put into the depiction of a Dragon on the outside of the venue. A huge red Dragons' head atop the entrance way sets the stage to what's to be seen on the inside. On entering, I was amazed by the vibrant red Chinese décor and the traditional umbrellas used to give the location its breathtaking look.

Checking me in, were two ladies in red traditional Chinese attire. The dresses were fitted and long with the gold treading details that shimmered in the light. As they gracefully walked towards me and bowed with clasped hand, I noticed the slits in the dress. It was a sexy but sophisticated look, all in keeping with the theme.

Despite the inclement weather, the Red Dragon party goers were jumping up in the rain some even sheltering with umbrellas and all. This seems to be somewhat of a tradition with this group. Rain or shine, they welcome the droplets as it cools their bodies.

As I engaged the crowd, I noticed faces I often see on 2B Promotions annual boat rides. Lighthearted, blissful and joyful faces as I aimed my camera in their direction.

After taking a few pics, I indulged in some of the food. It was simply delicious and tasty ... I had to lick my fingers (something I don't do often). Afterwards, I wasn't surprised to bounce up two pals who always hale me up from the 2B boatrides. As usual, they were trying to get me to take a drink from their private bar and take our usual group pictures, but I had to disappoint them this time around as I was too short on time. Sorry guys!! :-(

The iron section was jamming sweet to DJ Anonymous selections taking the vibe and energy to another level. People in the middle doing a kinda matrix dance to "Rollin" by Machel and Patrice Roberts. Clearly, they were in their own world at this point of the party. I felt their energy drawing me in. I wanted to put my camera down to get in a wine, or two!! Gosh .... I wanted to be them for a moment. Changing the pace a bit was my boy, Funky Fat Boy with the old school Soca. I just love his sessions and obviously, this group does too.

The beauty of this party was not only in the décor but also in the devotion from family and friends that attended the event. Imagine, despite unfavourable circumstances - numerous events on the same day and inclement weather - they had an amazing turn out. To me, this is were the true beauty lye. As I wrapped up and turned around to take a few ambient shots, I noticed the glow from the Chinese lantern above cast a warm red hue over the area. Yes warm... like the promoters and party goers of the Hidden Dragon event!!
