With fall right around the corner and 24 degrees temperature on a Saturday night, there was no other place to be than Palazzo Nightclub for I Love Soca – The Pelt Powder Edition, all brought to you by Dr. Jay and the Kingdom Of Soca family!!!!  The fete-go’ers pulled out their shorts, skirts and even three quarters just to take advantage of the last weekend of Soca Summer 2k8 and to enjoy beautiful weather just before we start seeing white on the floor ... brrrrrrr!

After parking, we had a few shots of Johnnie in de car and de TJJ crew was ready to rock! Of course, the line-up was around the corner at 11pm, but what could you expect when the fete was FREE before 11:30pm ... didn’t I say yuh couldn’t go wrong?! We made it into the building in a quick manner, as there was a VIP line that we entered through ... no stickin’ ah’tall! On the inside, there was already a large crowd wukkin’ up and peltin’ powder EVERYWHERE! Ah mean, de fete was called I Love Soca – The Pelt Powder Edition, so yuh know the powder posses’ were out and in full effect! When ah tell yuh, every man jack had ah bottle of powder inside the place (see photos 73 & 74)! The center of the dancefloor was covered in powder (photo), as well as the faces of the die-hard soca fans. What ah sight!! Somehow we managed to end up in the mix and within about half an hour, we were covered too! *lol*

For the night, keeping our bodies’ movin’ and groovin’ were Dr. Jay, Soca Sweetness and MarXman - they had the cure for your SOCA BLUES! The vibes were consistent all night, people were jumpin’, wavin’ and gettin’ on reeeeeeeal bad! Yuh know the TJJ crew had to be all over checkin’out the scenes.. ah lil' ah wuk and wine cyah hurt nobody! Ent?! LOL! We were knockin’ back a drinks and enjoyin’ de sweet tunes droppin’ one by one on the turntables, anticipating the next song. We got a nice lil' workout with the Socacize Crew, they had a few fellas assisting as they prepped us for what was comin’ up NEXT! As Dr. Jay began introducing the surprise artist, the crowd started chanting, “From night till mornin' we not leaving…cause we head bad, we head bad!!” “Make we take ah jump.. on de spot, on de spot, on de spot!!” Woooooi!!! The crowd reaction was nuts, they were reeeeady!! They were chantin’ and wavin’ their flags high in support of the St. Vincent and Grenadines sensation, Skinny Fabulous! His performance had the fete-go’ers jumpin’to the ceiling as he poured out a bottle of Hennessey into the crowd ... ladies flocked to the stage to ‘thief ah wine’ and when he was steppin’ off the stage, they couldn’t stop beggin’ for more!!!!

Of course, our bess dj’s had to change up the vibe and incorporate ah nice reggae session for the night with Dirty Des blessin’ the mic enhancin’ the vibe to a different hype! We just couldn’t help feelin’ nice... yuh had to groove! As always, de TJJ crew was one of the last to chip out the door around 3:45am, and at this point, we “head was baaaaad” and the party was a bess. All we needed to call it a night was a bake and shark with the works, and we were good to go from that!!

Thanks to Dr. Jay and the KOS family for sharing their love for soca with us!!! We will see allyuh at next soca meeting at Great Iron Pot, for one of the most anticipated parties, Big People Fete!! We gone to iron we ‘big people’ clothes yessss! LOL!!!
