Whether it was ah red flag, ah red shoe, ah red belt or red pants, shirt or hat ... everything at the Georgia Caribbean Carnival Development Committee 2nd Annual Red Fete was .... well, you guessed ... RED! Seriously, down to de walls in the hallway was RED ... either that or it must have been the 'Red Rum'? smile Held at Nicole's Banquet Hall in Decatur, Krista and de GCCDC crew really looked out for the TJJ family and made us feel right at home.

Niceness is not de word. De party was sweet - for those who were there of course. And just to tell yuh, DJ Bad Lad outta Toronto kicked things off wit ah lil' back in times. And those who were born after 1980 in de party looked ah bit lost when "Sugar Bum" by Lord Kitchener or "Netty Netty" by the Roaring Lion, started to play. Nevertheless, Soca beats doh lie ... because when the talented DJ Touches took to the set, it was nonstop jamming. And by the time he decided he was ready to roll, the crowd got mad cause de man played rel good. But guess what? Touches didn't lapse ... he passed de mic over to the next best deejay in de Soca business in ATL ... Tony Tempo. Even DJ Stephen came in for a while and did his thing. Kudos to the GCCDC Crew for the All Star DJ lineup that night. Even Tobagonian CBPhilli leave Charleston to come down for de Red Fete, yes! He say he ent here Soca like dat in eleven years. Papa Oye!! Dat is pressure!!

The turn out for the event wasn't too bad, but the GCCDC did anticipate a larger crowd. And for the first time for the night when the dance floor look like it was getting packed and the Scandalous Crew held center stage, on came a light. No, not the lights!! But the light from the camera man who wanted to film. De light brighten de whole party, but yuh know Trini's doh care. Light or no light, waist still throwing!!! Even 'True' from Krushmore make ah lil' entry to show his love.

All in all, the Red Fete was well planned and well stocked. We look out for Aunty who handle we de food .... pelau - NICE! Corn Soup - BOSS! Drinks - FREE! De ultimate combination for ah Fete!! And if yuh plan on hailing up Krista, Michelle and the rest of the GCCDC Crew, look out for them at the 2008 Atlanta Carnival. They will be at Wade Walker Park in Stone Mountain hosting their parade of the bands. We hear Nadia Batson and Kerwin Du Bois will be there!

As the morning begin to roll over, Bad Lad took us home with ah lil' steel pan from Despers. And as we said our good-byes, all I here was. "Where you feel you going?" It was Aunty Pam. She said, "Yuh feel yuh here just to take picture and fuh yuh good looks or what? Yuh see dat broom, grab it and start to clean!!" Well, after how nice the GCCDC crew treat we, we had no choice. All I said was, "Yes Aunty," and started to sweep. *lol* De cut eye wasn't too nice to look at either.

Red Fete, next year? For Sure!!
