Award ceremonies usually are followed by a great after party, but if you attended the 2008 Stony Awards well, that kinda IS the After Party! A very cool yet relaxed, chilled, mellow, peace and love type of event.

The Stony Awards started like any other award ceremony though, you know, the green carpet... and photos of the celebrities coming in... the only difference is that jeans and T-shirts were the norm, and the designer names were more like Smoke Session 420, Holy Water Style and Delta 9ine.

Musical acts like LEON & The Peoples performed their hits, "Weeds Gone Come Around" and "Sensi Seed Persuasion". Los Marijuanos sang "La Mota" and Zachariah & The Lobos Riders, sang a long list of their Country/Rock/Hip Hop fusion, one of which is, "I Wanna Be A Lawnmower". Be sure to check them all out on their myspace pages!

Celebrities like Mad TV's Debra Skelton (photo), SNL's Finesse Mitchell (photo), Pineapple Express' James Franco (photo) just to mention a few, were presenters of some of the categories of the 8th Annual Stony Awards. Categories included Best Internet Video, Best TV Show, Best Documentary, Best Drama, Best Comedy, Stoner of the Year and of course, Stonette of the Year.

Now, just to do some more name dropping cuz we can... you can check out the gallery for Gary Cole, hottie Max Martini from The Unit, Paul Ben-Victor, Olivia Munn from Attack of the Show, and others were hanging loose at the Malibu Inn.

The High Times 2008 Stony Awards were a blast! It felt a lil bit like my high school reunion, where the coolest kids, the nerds, the losers, the class clown, and the most likely to succeed finally found out that they actually had more in common than they ever knew! smile

Signing off, until the next one....
