Hey! Hey! Hey Tdot! Mizz Kayz is back from sweet T&T and iz only pace for de next few mths… yuh ALL know wha I’m talkin’ about! With Caribana around de corner, yuh know everybody out fetein’ like is Trinidad Carnival all over again! TJJ can’t be left in de cold, so yuh know we fetein’ in all de hot spots with allyuh right thru!

So, I touched down in Toronto about 8pm and with no time for procrastination, dropped of my luggage, did all that good stuff and headed downtown to de Sound Academy for Fire Fete! Mama Jin and I were de only one’s rollin’ tonight so we made it downtown by 11:30pm sharp.. no extra stops always helps! He he! We were shocked to see no big line up when we pulled in.. looks like everyone was pumpin’ on time (and we all know that ain’t Caribbean time lol). Things ran smoothly with two lines at the door, ah mean with this serious cold weather in APRIL they couldn’t afford to leave people outside in dese temperatures na! Lol! As we entered the building there was organized chaos at the front door with anxious fete-go-er’s singing Kenneth Salick’s hot track for 2009, "Radica". Within an hour of us arriving, the place was rammed, making the outsiders who couldn’t get tickets wish they were there! Mama Jin and I quickly settled in and made our rounds. The crews were out in full force as always and the crowd was mixed up like a pot of callaloo.

KENNETH SALICK was de first performer to bless the stage but unfortunately we missed his performance... as we entered the DJ area, we could hear de crowd filling de air ... “Since you leave me, I am alone!” DJ's GOLDFINGER, SOCA MONARCHS, D'ENFORCAS and JUK were entertaining the crowd while the other artists prepared for their show backstage. KMC, IWER GEORGE, SCRAPPY, EDWIN YEARWOOD, SKINNY FABULOUS, RICKY-T, BLAXX and ZOELAH were “ready, ready, ready, ready” to invade de Sound Academy.

Around 12:30am, one by one, performers touched the mic. Scrappy ran on stage and was luvin’ de vibes, as he screamed out “London is nothing like this” with a huge smile on his face. Ricky T came on and had power over de crowd when he sang “Pressure Boom”. Zoelah was “whinin’ in ah circle and jammin’ baby ("Wine Up On Me")!!” Edwin Yearwood took us waaaaaaay back with chunes like "Pump Me Up", "Insane" and was gettin’ on wid "We On De Way". KMC & his big band (Red, White & Black) touched the stage and reminded us of our "First Experience" as they set our "Souls On Fire"! And for all the fete-go’ers who were claiming they ain’t "Drunk", they threw bottles of water to help into de crowd. LOL.

Skinny Fabulous joined de band on stage and we were all ready to party til' mornin with him! TJJ “head was baaaaaad” ah tell yuh ("On The Spot (Head Bad)"!!! Iwer George, accompanied by Super Jigga TC then came on singing, "KFC, KFC, KFC, WE LIKEEEEEE It!!!!" What ah great reminder of back home - Trinidad KFC is truly de BESS!!! Hands down!! Blaxx was "Tusty" fuh wine, and so were we!! De chune got wheeled about 6 times boi! We were feelin’ de feeling! He then chipped across de stage with KMC like they crossing de judging point Carnival Tuesday! The performances surely made you anticipate Caribana weekend.

After the show was all done, the DJ's kept the vibe going for about half hour, and then we all made it out de building around 3 am. With feelings of excitement for warmer weather and more big shows like tonight, we were all ready to "Get On Bad" at de next fete!!
