Normally we don’t need a special reason to be at Sosta Lounge on the first Saturday of the month, it’s a ritual by now every first Saturday is F.R.I.E.N.D.S. But this one was extra special as the guys at sixAxis Ent. were celebrating their 3rd Anniversary of hosting the F.R.I.E.N.D.S party ‘professionally’. We say ‘professionally’ because many of you (in the know), will know they actually started more than 3 years ago with the most looked forward to B.Y.O.B end of year house parties. We are sure some of you remember crawling out of there in the wee hours of the morning ... then again maybe you don’t. smile

Now according to Google, the appropriate gift for the 3rd Anniversary is made of paper, so nice, we gave the guys a card that said "Happy Anniversary" ... no we are not cheap, just like to follow tradition. But seriously, it was them who really gave us the presents. Sticking to their plan for the 2009 season, they once again provided a line up of DJs that we here in South Florida don’t usually get to see and hear. They went all the way to New York and secured the services of the 2008 International Soca DJ of the Year, DJ Spice, and then pair him up with one of South Florida’s favorite DJs - Private Ryan, who if you check his passport is quickly becoming an "International Man of Party" having just spent two weekends in a row in JA for their Carnival (see coverage) and a stint in Washington. Of course, it wouldn’t be F.R.I.E.N.D.S without the Trini Jungle Juice resident DJ, C.I.Dee Sound in the lineup ... so we expected the music to be on point, and we were not disappointed at all.

Now it would not be a sixAxis celebration if they didn’t lay out a table for the lucky ones to feast on. We say lucky ones, because if you catch yuhself rell wining down on the dance floor enjoying the vibes, by the time you notice people walking around with cups of Corn Soup or plates of Paleau tell yuhself food done get mashup already. This rounds it had the ever popular Corn Soup from DJ the Chef. Honestly, some people does come just for the Corn Soup, Boil Corn and Paleau!! There was even dessert as one Miss Nicole D provided some of the most moist and potent Rum Cake you have ever tasted ... that is the kinda cake yuh need to card people to make sure they are over 21 before they can eat it!! smile

So it was good music, good food, drinks and a good time with your F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Can’t wait till next month to see BENJAI mashup de place!!! "Tanty say to go down dey .... it go be nuff bachannal ... yuh go dance the night away!!!!"
