Kicking off the reggae month in Barbados, House on Fire Productions brought to the Bajan public STAR POWER featuring Sizzla Kalonji, Tarrus Riley and John Holt.

Now people this was an event not to miss! The rain fell and people still came out in numbers with dem umbrellas. We all know that when rain falls in most countries, people usually stay home, but eh eh... this wasn't the case at the National Stadium on April 3rd 2009.

Among the crowd were some of the finalist of the King Island Queen Show, the Prime Minister Hon. David Thompson with his family, and of course Barbados' own singing sensation Rihanna, who partied along side friends and family. (I sorry I didn't get any pics of Rihanna, but I promise you TJJ fans that next time she and I in the same fete, you going get some pictures! smile)

Unfortunately for me and my camera, the rain fell during the performances of John Holt, Tarrus Riley and some of Sizzla but this did not stop the crowd or me from enjoying their performances. Tarrus Riley got the crowd hype when he performed his popular tracks "I Will Stay" and his smash hit "She's Royal".

Sizzla Kalonji ended the show when he performed such hits as "Praise Ye Jah", "Rise to the Occasion", "Black Woman and Child", "Thank U Mamma" and many more. Near the end of Sizzla's performance, Bajan artiste Buggie joined him on stage and the two had the crowd jumping and singing as they performed a couple hot songs on stage. At the end of this performance, I saw a couple ladies crying that it was over (I promise not to call any names), but ladies... I'm sure he'll be back.

Rain or no rain, all three performances were fantastic. Drinks were flowing in the VIP section and fans relaxed and enjoyed themselves as they listened to the great reggae vibes throughout the night.

All I can say folks, is that I can't wait for the next show that House on Fire Productions will be bringing to Barbados. And from what I been hearing, it promises to be an unforgettable one!
