Shurwayne Winchester, Collie Buddz and Da Ma$tamind creates Musical Magic!Trinidad and Tobago, December 18, 2007 -- “Mastermind has done it again!” (cue melodramatic music) “Dun dun dunnnnnnn”

Even though the name fits, this is not the labor of a villain or superhero in a story. However the work I am speaking of is most definitely going to cause a stir in the international music scene.

The Mastermind I am speaking of is Shawn “Da Ma$tamind” Noel of Mastamind Productions, the award winning full range music production and management company, founded in 2005 by Natasha Andrews-Noel and Shawn Noel. Their production catalogue consists of countless collaboration with today's leading Soca stars and many more talented artists yet to be discovered.

To date, they are responsible for several Soca and Soca-Parang albums, which are all available worldwide and digitally at iTunes, Trinidadtunes and a host of other digital stores.

From their creative genius comes a song for Trinidad’s Carnival 2008 season that is set to have everyone sinking their musical teeth in and enjoying every drum beat and guitar lead.

Shawn Noel has brought together two of the Caribbean’s brightest and most gifted artistes to produce a sure hit, that until now very few people even knew was going to happen.

As he tells it after Carnival 2k7, Shurwayne Winchester’s song “Alequa” kept rolling around in his head. After producing it he felt that there was more that he could get out of it. Turns out he was right. He sat and composed the remix to it after releasing the original; which as everyone remembers was a popular song for that season.

When Shawn visited Trinidad, he played the remix for Shurwayne who loved it. The next step was somewhat surprising but pleasantly so.

Shurwayne put in a call to Collie Buddz and played the tune for him. Yes, we mean that Collie Buddz, the Bermudian Reggae sensation, and surprise surprise (not really it is a Ma$tamind song after all) Collie was only happy to come on board and put down his lyrics to this blazing song, as he loved the beat.

Collie went to Ma$tamind studios in New York, where Shawn says working with him was a “cool vibe”. The results? Well soon enough you will be able to judge, but from what we hear you should be prepared to be blown away.

In a festival that boasts some of the world’s best imaginative minds and artistic flavors, the combination of Soca and Reggae is not a new concept. Ma$tamind and Shurwayne working together is also not new. With songs such as “Don’t Stop”, “Open De Gate” and many more hits under their belt they are like family. What is new is the very talented Collie Buddz whose unique Reggae spice will add a taste to our beloved Soca that will surely rock all of our senses.

Consider yourselves enlightened.

Try to contain your anticipation until “Da Ma$tamind Project 3” hits stores.
It shouldn’t be too difficult a task considering it is scheduled to drop 12/21/07.
I can hardly wait, what about you?
