Basseterre, St. Kitts (January 29, 2007): Newcomer to the designing scene Mikieda Franklin will this year find herself as a designer on Winnielle Model Management and bmobile's swimsuit extravaganza dubbed Show Me Your Body.

Over the years she has appeared on the event as a model and although she has been modeling for several years she has been designing on a personal scale even longer.

She is about to launch her design label which she calls ItsyBitsyWear.Co and because of her experience as a model on Winnielle Model Management's annual shows has chosen the event as her launching pad.

Mikieda recently said of Show Me Your Body, "the show is dynamic. I can truly say I will miss the runway but what I am doing is just as much fun. There is a lot of work involved in pulling off a production and backstage can be fierce. But I love every minute of it."

She said she loves every minute of her experience as a model and is sure she will love her experiences as a designer.

She boasts that she will be bringing sexy back. "It's all about being feminine, being sexy." She explained that one of her lines is called "So Sweet", and it's all about being a girl fun colorful lively.

She spoke of another line she calls "GlamAmazon", which she says about being a woman strong sexy proud but exotic.

The men she said she will not leave out. "I have a little special for the men, Trust me this show won't be like anything you have imagined."

Mikieda says she can barely contain her excitement and cannot wait to showcase her line. "I am ecstatic!" This is my dream this is what all the late nights up designing and redesigning was all for, the line has not so far had a chance to be displayed to its fullest and people are going to be surprised," she said.

To Winnielle Model Management she says, "Hats off to WMM because they are revealing that side of the Caribbean, when people think of coming to the isles, its sexy and fun and fantasy filled. They portray exactly that and more of what the Caribbean is all about in their shows."

She has been chosen to be the face of Show Me Your Body and will be featured on tickets and posters and has said, "I see this show as also being a way to say St. Kitts/Nevis too, can be fashion forward and can promote our young designers here on St. Kitts and abroad."She says from her experience as a model on Show Me Your Body it is a sassy show, it is expressive and funky.

Of WMM she says, "What they are doing was begging to be done. Winnielle Model Management emerged on scene and has become the top modeling agency in St. Kitts and Nevis it was only natural for them to progress to hosting a premiere fashion show as this."

Of her designs she said, "designing for me is not just want you wear, it's the colors, and the styles you put together, its about that little unique something that can always be found in your outfits, and that has always been me, always rearrange a style I find too drab, revamping sometime old, or dousing it in color."

She says everything around her inspires her, whether it is visual art, art history, old movies, cartoons, fabrics. "Everything I touch, and feel and see inspires a new design. My hope is that my designs inspire others to push the boundaries and explore the new, unchartered areas in fashion and in life.

Speaking about her line of clothing Mikieda said her line is called ItsyBitsyWear.Co, and is marketed under three divisions, ItsybitsyWear which consist of Swimwear and Lingerie, IBW The Collection which includes ladies clothing, and Del-lari-um the men's collection. She explained that ItsyBitsyWear.Co (IBW.Co) is a mixture of Caribbean style light fabrics, vibrant colors and rich textures, reminiscent of Caribbean lifestyle fresh, light, carefree but bold, alive and vibrant.

When asked to capture her line in word Mikieda said, "Vivid personality is utilized with high Fashion European flavor, it captures Amerindian, East Indian, African and Chinese culture embodying global influences in innovative wearable designs. Tailored with extra-ordinary detail, the line was created to visually expose people to various backgrounds through my designs, every look exuding a rich multi-culture mix of discreetly sexy outfits, quintessential dresses with exaggerated textures, scrumptious, fluid fabric, with delicious textured embellishment, or leather detailing. Batik, style techniques, with Asian inspired designs and fluid fabrics to invoke the feeling of sexiness but with utter comfort and style, excellent fit and top of the line style and sophistication which serves as a reminder that though our past is complicated, fashion in the Caribbean is not set or defined its a mosaic of different eras in fashion and revolutionary changes."

From listening to Mikieda speak anyone would be enticed to come out and view her line of swimwear. Show Me Your Body will be held on March 23 at the St. Kitts Marriott Grand Pavillion.

The show is being held one month earlier than usual and all is looking forward to it being a grand event. CEO Winnielle Guilbert hints that their may be a pleasant surprise in store for patrons.

This year's featured model is Kevin Mcdowell of Saint International Models and Enyce Models. He has been featured across the world in some of the world's top urban magazines, such as Vibe.
