For the last six years the concept event GLOW You Must Wear White, has thundered through the Caribbean Diaspora spreading the gospel of sweet Soca, like no other event has ever done. From its genesis in Trinidad, it chipped its way up the Caribbean: Grenada, Barbados, St.Vincent, Jamaica, surfing its way north to Miami, Washington D.C., New York, then crashing the border further north to Toronto, inevitably taking flight across the Atlantic ocean to London. GLOW even cheered and celebrated with our Soca Warriors in Germany. All the while influencing numerous knock-offs and downright pirated versions. This event was only supposed to last five years but continues too be one of the largest events at every trini-style carnival in the world. 2007 Trinidad Carnival will be the canvas for the evolution of GLOW. Soca & Fashion Collide The Promo: Each Top Soca Artiste is paired with a leading Fashion Designer, for a photo session, utilizing a bolt of white cloth still attached to the spool, the photos from the session to be used in a keepsake mini-magazine distributed free of charge to promote the event. The Event: Each
top Soca Artiste will be outfitted by their design partner, for their performance.
The Soca Artists: DESTRA GARCIA, SHURWAYNE WINCHESTER, BUNJI GARLIN, FAYANN LYONS, 2NTRIGUE, RITA JONES, BLAX, MICHELE XAVIER, RUSSEL CADOGAN, GHETTO FLEX and many more to be announced.
