Biggie Irie ready to defend in T&TPort-Of-Spain, Trinidad - Jan 2008

Barbadian Singer/Songwriter Geoffrey Cordle known in the music arena as "Biggie Irie" will be defending his title of International Groovy Soca Monarch in Trinidad & Tobago at the Soca Monarch finals on Feb 1st 2008.

After creating history last February by becoming the first non-T&T national to walk away with one of the most prestigious accolades in the Soca realm, Biggie's career has had no shortage of achievements.

In addition to successfully participating in all major Carnival events in the Caribbean, North America and the U.K., Biggie's video for his Soca Monarch winning tune "Nah Goin Home", topped the charts on MTV Tempo's Cross Caribbean Countdown, securing the number one spot for a significant period.

The Reggae crooner turned Soca sensation was also the recipient of awards at the 2007 edition of the annual International Soca Awards, in the categories of "Soca Song of the year" and "Favourite Groovy Soca".

Biggie will definitely be present at various fetes and events en route to the Soca Monarch finals.
Armed with the infectious party anthem "Band on Fire" (a track recently remixed with Trinidadian artiste Ziggy Ranking), he is ready to set ablaze the competition and on "Fantastic Friday" he will defend his crown and deliver another stellar performance.
