R
MAGAZINE IS HERE! Posted 10-14-05
R
Magazine is here. A 100% local magazine that looks and feels completely different
from every other Caribbean magazine you've ever read. R
infuses the hottest Caribbean girls with the most stylish of men's fashion and
gadgets then adds a large dose local fatigue and opinionated, loud-mouthed commentary
and makes no apologies for it. R is for every man who believes men's fashion consists
of more than baggy white linen pants and seashell necklaces. R is for every man
who likes his cars turbo charged and his girls fire hot. And R is for every woman
who wants to know what her man wants and why.
Conceptualized
by Wesley Welch, and brought to life with the help of Shawn Chong Ashing,
Akim Chow, Shawn Valley, Anita Bhola and Colin Chin Aleong. They
intend to change not only the magazine industry regionally, but also change the
way the Caribbean man is viewed both by himself and the international community.
Who tend to stereotype and pigeonhole us. Equally as important R serves as a medium
to highlight the raw undiscovered talent and beauty that abounds in the Caribbean
but sometimes runs parallel to the mainstream.
The
inaugural episode of R features rising Jamaican beauty Yendi Phillipps,
Trinidadian born London based Domonique La Veau, the gorgeous Faye Ann
Lyons, and rising musical talent Helen Marquez. Aside from the overt
eye candy R is packed with hard-hitting journalism and complete with a men's "how
to" guide teaching you everything from hot-wiring a car to annoying everyone
around you. R also comes standard with a sooped up RSX and everything women want.
R is truly Revolutionizing what Trinidadians read and the way they read it. With
the type of other local magazines littering the newsstands it's easy to see why
so many people have been eagerly anticipating R's arrival into the market. R has
spent the last two years collecting market research, sorting through so-called
professionals in the field and overcoming a veritable minefield of obstacles to
deliver the highest quality product on the market.
