The sunset was soft
when SALSA IN THE CITY got off the floor. The cool winds in the hair of
Amie and Ellese of "Las Gringitas" would be the look
straight out a magazine setting a hot pace for the other performers to
follow. "Art in Motion" one of the best-known Philadelphia
based dance companies would follow immediately after setting a dance twitch
in each and every dancer standing on the edges of the black and white
dance floor. The kids who were at first a little shy were now ready to
show us just what stuff they were made of. "Merencumbe"
took the floor in their orange costumes to compliment the skylight and
expressed the passion of Salsa. "Kids con Estilo" who
did see their peers do their thing was quite eager now to perform and
boy oh boy everyone enjoyed watching the future of Salsa unfold before
our very eyes. Only the pictures can tell the 1000 words when "Joe
and Amie" took center stage. Their chemistry together could only
lure you into their performance. Just when you thought it might be all
over with the sun setting behind us and the twilight of the city lights
coming up over the water "Visual Impact" came running
down the board walk fully loaded and ready to go. Their awesome performance
in the dying light would only be beckoning for all dancers to come for
a night of hard core dancing to begin
