SPOTRUSHAZ

Raised on the crazed streets and back-roads of St James, Port of Spain, Trinidad & Tobago, Spotrushaz found solace from their worldly troubles in the embrace of the universal hip-hop art form.

Stranded on a tropical island as hip-hop grew in popularity and influence around the globe, Spotrushaz began to manifest their love and appreciation for hip-hop amongst their peers.

It began with a "rap-plate" for local sound system, SEL Construction. When it was used to "kill-a-rival-sound" during a 'clash', no one believed that the voices on the "Whoa" instrumental were local and so the soundman decided to give these local MCs some quality time at his home studio.

It was 1998: hip-hop had not taken over the mainstream yet and was still considered by most to be "an American art-form that had no place in sweet T&T". BUT that didn't stop Spotrushaz from hopping on every available stage and "rushing every available spot" thus earning their moniker.

Sticking to their hardcore portfolio brought continued respect and love from local hip-hop fans and in 1999, Spotrushaz was chose to open 98.9 YES FM's big indoor concert headlined by Jamaican Deejay, Sizzla and hip-hop icons, Naughty By Nature.

Since then, Spotrushaz have opened for an array of international acts, including: Ms Jade, Sean Paul, Ludacris, Bounty Killer and the legendary duo, Slick Rick and Doug-E-Fresh.

After seven years of struggle and sacrifice on a Caribbean Island, Spotrushaz are finally at the crossroads to success!

These authentic MCs possess the ultimate amalgamation of hip hop talent and Caribbean flavor and are set to infect the world with their unique version of the hip hop virus: Tiefhead Music!

Tiefhead Music is an infectious combination of Hip-Hop, Calypso and Reggae heaped with a myriad of major Global influences… and dripping with Caribbean flavor!

As the clocks ticks away on 2006, Spotrushaz are hard at work on their TRUE debut album, "It's About F@(k!n Time".

In June, Spotrushaz released the first major single: a southern-styled smash entitled "Put The Chips Up", which has been receiving major airplay on all local urban stations.

On July 1st, Spotrushaz hosted their first-ever full length concert and party at Pabloz Sports Bar in St James as the first installment of their regional concert series entitled, The Life We Chose TOUR.
