Choka Lyme 3rd Annual Holi Canned Food Drive 2015
Every year, thousands of hindus participate in the festival Holi. The festival has many purposes. First and foremost, it celebrates the beginning of the new season, spring. Originally, it was the festival that commemorated good harvest and fertile land. Hindus believe it is the time of enjoying spring's abunfant colors and saying farewell to winter. It also has a religious purpose, commemorating events in Hindu mythology. Holi is probably one of the most exhilarating ones in existence. During this event, participants throw, colored powder at each other, and celebrate widley. Since thousands are excepted to attend the Holi / Paghwa Parade on March 8th 2015 in Richmond Hill. We ask if everyone can bring just one can of canned food.
Collections will begin Saturday Feb 14th - March 8th 2015.
Please bring all canned foods to Flowers by Shanta, Located at 130-14 Liberty Ave Richmond Hill, New York.
