A Red Velvet Ball: A Celebration of Life, Liberty and Awareness

A Red Velvet Ball: A Celebration of Life, Liberty and Awareness

2015 marks a complete year YoPro has operated in Trinidad and Tobago. As a non-profit organization, YoPro has been able to touch the lives of over 799 young professionals in the past year, through engaging and interactive activities including workshops, expos and networking experiences.

As we begin the second year in Trinidad and Tobago, YoPro decided to host this event to raise awareness for Human Rights, human trafficking and the men and women impacted by this, as well as the need for greater professionalization of youth and young professionals as they enter, and re-enter the workplace.

This unique experience includes a six-course tasting menu and local entertainment. YoPro delivers its signature networking experience, paired with live entertainment, and a few words from global representatives of partner organizations.

With some of the proceeds of the event, projects impacting human trafficking will be supported.

In the same way, YoPro will use the public awareness of the event to further the development of unique and innovative programs that foster greater engagement and involvement of youth and young professionals. Building on the success of its program in Trinidad and Tobago, YoPro aims to add greater value to its local stakeholders by advancing its workshops to include life-skills and a certification program that is built on an academic-practitioner model for social development. YoPro also seeks to expand to other parts of the region that will benefit most from these programs such as Jamaica and the Bahamas.

The organizations involved are dedicated to the rehabilitation of individuals, particularly women and youth who are either disadvantaged or unprepared for the life they aspire to lead, and as such, have developed a series of programs that teach basic life needs, professionalization, and interpersonal skills; as well as forums for those very individuals to integrate into society, meet and interact with peers and potential mentors, and finally, provide opportunities through expos and opportunity fairs, for these very individuals to access employment, entrepreneurial opportunities and academic qualifications, as functioning and progressive members of society.
