For thousands of people, Cohobblopot is the most anticipated party event of the Crop Over Season, and this year, the Cockspur Digicel Red Hot Cohobblopot will be extra special. Not only will the Caribbean’s soca King, Machel Montano be on stage presenting The World in HD ; the Caribbean’s Soca Queen is going to be giving a special presentation theme Alison’s Wonderland – The Life of a Girl called Alison Hinds.
They will share the stage with the new SweetSoca and Party Monarch Queen, TC; the Second Lady, Natahlee; as well as other Caribbean music stars, including Richie Spice, Patrice Roberts, Mikey, Grynner, and MC, the inimitable Mac Fingall.
The Cockspur Digicel Cohobblopot show will evolve in three stages: Emerge – the emergence of new artistes who perform and the fusions and hybrids of calypso music; these include John Mahameed, Timmy the Tool Man, Major Stabby Pain, Chow Mein, Nard, Kirk Brown, and Salt. The second stage will feature Machel Montano and HD, and his guests Patrice Roberts, Farmer Nappy and Zan. The third stage is a tribute to Alison Hinds and includes her long-time music mates Terry ‘Mexican’ Arthur and Anderson ‘Blood’ Armstrong.
Another highlight of Cohoblopt this year is the Brian Lara Ultimate VIP all-inclusive party in the Three Ws stand, where patrons receive extra special treatment, and have access to the front of the stage.
