2006 promises to be a year that we keep the Salsa hot! and there is not better place than "Salsa Land" to do so. If you do not know what Salsa Land is then we would recommend you read last year's commentary. (Well if you can imagine Salsa Land expanded the dance space added 2 more dance floors). Half the Salsa in the City team was already in the City of Angels by early Friday and the other half arrived later that evening. We were all very hungry by 6pm LA time because that really meant it was 8pm Eastern Time? or was it that we already knew the kind of dancing that was coming very shortly.

The Philadelphia Hispanic Yellow Pages is on to something. The Philadelphia Hispanic Choice Awards event at the Kimmel Center was definitely the place to be on April 29th. In its third year of production, the Hispanic Choice Awards event was a well-orchestrated top-drawer event that is well on its way to becoming the region’s foremost award show honoring Philadelphia’s Hispanic community. What is even more impressive is that the community selects both the nominees and the award recipients, thus earning the name, “el premio de la gente”.

As the plane landed in the City of Angels for the Salsa in the City team, there was a keen awareness that the ultimate salsa experience was waiting. We were officially in "Salsa land"! What is "Salsa land"?
