You’ve heard their music on the radio... You have their songs as your ringtone... And you’ve probably requested their videos!

Now embrace the opportunity to get close and personal with Kes the band as they prepare to host their first fully produced Carnival event: Shangri-La!

Shangri-La will take place on Thursday February 4th, 2010 at the Normandie hotel and will run from 7 p.m. - 11 p.m., featuring a musical set by the band that will last nearly 2 hours in length!

Also showcased in the night's line-up is the beautiful and extremely talented vocalist Nadia Batson, who is a featured act of the band and possesses a catalogue of hits that include: “My Posse”, “Caribbean Girl”, “My Land”, and her latest collaboration with Kees, "Heaven". Also look out for several popular performing guest acts, Dj’s High Fidelity and Less than Zero, and special guest Dj, Dr. Jay ‘De Soca Prince’ out of Toronto. (Dr. Jay is a three-time Stylus Soca DJ of the Year and two-time Int'l Soca DJ of the Year.)

Through Shangri-La , the approach of Kes the Band is to take a different spin on the way Carnival events are presented, and to place special emphasis on the visual and musical aspects, with the objective of  captivating the hearts and minds of all in attendance. This will be achieved by taking the audience member through a mystical journey that will expose each and everyone to astonishing effects and "eye-popping" dance presentations by talented choreographer Adrian Daniel.

Kes the band will stage a production that will embrace the island’s customs and heritage with the mindset that the beauty of Carnival, our music, and our land has been influenced by dozens of other cultures as well.

This is what the Carnival season needs: a breath of fresh air in the landscape.

A place that allows us to take in the beauty of who we are as a people.

A place to enjoy the wealth of musical talent that exists in our land.

A place to live freely and to escape from our everyday lives...

A place known as Shangri-La!

Be part of this mystical event and experience a journey like no other.
