Fresh off the plane, and D’ Local Juice already gave me my 1st assignment for the 2010 Carnival season - St. Francois Girl's College All Inclusive fete, held at St. John’s on Friday January 8th. No scene, once it has the word “inclusive” in it... I dey! It’s the 8th year for the fete, and believe or not, TJJ’s 1st experience! So let’s see what St. Francois "Soca Masala" has to offer. Lights, Cameras, Action ... "You, TJJ and Carnival" Season Two begins ... see TJJ TV Coverage.

We walked inside to see the #1 Crossover Chutney band, Karma on stage. Something didn’t look right? Ah yes, Ravi B. and Nisha B., were joined by new frontline singer Gregory Ayuen, formerly with Imij & Co. So, new things for 2010! We pulled Ravi and Nisha backstage for a quick interview to catch up and see what’s new for the season.  Two words, “Ah Drinka”! (Watch this space for the music video when it releases - Chutney Music Videos)

96.7 RED FM’s Merry Perry held the musical vibes in between bands, and it wasn’t too long before Kes The Band was on. Looks like Nadia Batson (who’s sporting a new, trim look), is back with the band for C2K10. Niceness! Both Shal Marshall & Screws (“Police”) and JW & Blaze (“Palance”) graced the stage with Kes The Band and helped raise the energy level up a couple notches well. The Palance Riddim is going to cause some serious trouble this season.

Drinks and food continued to run, with the Bake & Shark line getting quite lengthy towards the end of the night. Wine drinkers to ice cream lovers were all pleased with a Yellow Tail wine bar and Häagen-Dazs® on premise.  And all the rum drinkers got their fill of Corn Soup and Doubles before hitting the road.

We grabbed JW and Blaze fresh off the stage to learn about the inspiration behind their hit tune “Palance”. And they made it clear that they are not greedy for Road March, but if they get it… they will take it!
