CROWD:
Well well well...every man, Jack, Tom, Mary, Mohammed, Jane, John and their Tanty (literally) were in the dance tonight!!! Those fortunate enough to be going home were ready to come out in preparation and the less fortunate of us (some of the TJJ team included *sniff*) were ready to take whatever little taste of carnival they could get !!There were some lovely Ladies in the dance tonight, although why it is EVERYONE seemed to have on the same 2 by 4 Primark dress complete with a chain bag? Come on Ladies we can do better than that!!! The men however seemed to be on a serious hunting mission tonight so the ladies were getting harrassed! A mixed crowd and a little more of the ringo rango grime(complete with attitude!!!) than the usual Busspepper but overall a good mixture.

VENUE/ACCESSIBILITY:
When the ceiling of the venue starts to sweat more than the peeps on the inside wha that mean???!! Lol... who say Abacus was ram jam jammed and we feel for the first time tonight Busspepper filled the venue to absolute capacity (for the last couple of months) ...if not slightly over! Having had several BP fetes in a row now in Abacus you know the set up by now...3 bars, a food area, seats, huge dancefloor and two main rooms on the lower floor. It has everything you would want and is a stone's throw from the tube...so, as they say in London: QUALITY! However, familiarity breeds contempt so time for a change please just to keep it fresh!!!

VIBES:
For a party so rammed with what seemed like the entire Caribbean population of London and just weeks before Trini carnival you would expect real vibes right? real excitement yeah? WRONG! We heard the expression 'something missing' on more than one occassion and we still can't place our TJJ finger on what ain't working in the pepper pot! Perhaps too much of the same thing? Having said that there were little pockets of the dance that were getting on bad, including a little orgy in the VIP room! boom bang bang!!! There were those that closed their eyes whilst jamming somebody on a wall...mmmm...a sweet wine!!! For the most part, I think there were too many people squeezed in for anyone to really get on ... either way you were sweating profusely or trying to get away from someone else who was!!! Last but by no means least...it's carnival so more 2010 music needed ... yes thats right ... we heard a count of no more than seven (7) new tunes ... It has been a month since Carnival 2010 has begun and less than a handful of new tunes were played tonight .... uhm .... *-)

FOOD/DRINK:
Food from De Four caterers as per usual...yummy, on time, good selection, value for money and plenty of it...FULL MARKS! Drinks were also flowing, assuming you could get to the bar through the ringo rangos and actually didn't mind a wait. That aside, take yuh pick from a full range of wines, champagne and spirits at pretty reasonable prices.

SERVICE:
Wow...what happened here? For those of you who read the Pepper reviews regularly you will notice Abacus service is usually at least a 7 or 8. Some people were missing tonight and the bar service suffered BIG TIME. The upstairs bar seemed to just have one person on duty and that meant the wait for a drink of any kind was incredibly painful. Now we gotta say, you know yuh sell real tickets, yuh know D warm up session pulls a serious crowd every year so warn Abacus to fill up on staff to match the crowd please!

COST/VALUE:
You could get tickets in advance online for £10 which sold out a good few days before the event. Failing that, get on the guest list and yuh inside for £15. Pretty much any club in London is the same if not more on a saturday night BUT for something that will be some people's only taste of carnival...we would have liked a little more spice, a little less grime and sweat to feel we get our money's worth!
