Trinidad: 08th February 2010:- She shares a name with two famous American personalities. But Chrystal “Buffy” Cuffy does slay vampires and has more to offer than a certain body part. Oh and she is 110 percent Trinbagonian!  Emerging on the music scene just in time for Carnival 2010 she has been making waves every where she goes. With three songs already receiving tremendous airplay, She may well surpass the fame and fortune of her foreign namesakes.

Hailing from South Trinidad, Claxton Bay to be exact, Buffy brings a new urban flavour to Soca, with great crossover appeal. All Night is a Groovy collaboration with Soca artiste Rocky that has flavourings of dancehall, while still maintaining that carnival frenzy. Not your average wining song it plays like a drama showing our ability to transform into party insomniacs every year.  Anything however is about pure waist movements, bacchanal and freedom in a soca dance where as she says: “Man wining on anything…woman wining on anything” Her final track, “Buffy & Thick” she maintains, is motivation for the girls with a little bit extra on the side “the thick sweet and sexy gyal dem!” where she tells the less fluffy girls not to hate on the “girls that buff” and  encourages the girls with a little more meat on their bones  girls to be more confident , like she certainly is! Buffy & Thick was released for Carnival 2009 and surfaced just like her new found fame.

For the Carnival season thus far Buffy has performed in almost all the major events and as the build up to Carnival 2010 continues Buffy is in everything!! There is no stopping her now!! This shy and humble artiste (so she says!) is one to look out for and the buzz around town is that she may well be the hottest new soca sensation to come along in soca in quite a while!  We hope she is truly ready for anything when Hollywood does comes knocking! Be prepared for what would happen after Carnival 2010.
