The Good:

Harts is one of the relatively cheaper Carnival Bands in terms of price I believe. Primarily because it isn't an All Inclusive band (which has pretty much taken over since TRIBE evolved), but there are drink carts and such. I’m sure some masqueraders prefer the drinks carts over the drinks trucks because the trucks always keep moving and security usually pushes you away from the trucks for safety reasons as well.  On the other hand, the drinks carts keep moving, but people can jump onto the carts. Now those folks out there that don't know about sweet T&T and Carnival, you may have expected that being one the cheaper mas bands, it would be grimey on some level, but AH HAH... you got caught in the trap (if looking for grime) because Harts is actually one of the most prestigious bands in the country! And if a band is good enough for our former Miss World's and Miss Universe's, then it's most certainly good enough for me!! J Harts was my kind if band ... young people (mainly 18-30 in age) wearing skimpy outfits (well, carnival costumes) and having no conduct in the road (I mean masqueradering through the streets of Port-of-Spain) ... LOVE IT!

The Normal:

It was Carnival and so people basically stormed the band. Not saying as a result the whole band was filled with outsiders but you could have found one or two taking a wine on a masquerader. I never really saw that as a problem and I guess security didn’t either! J Harts was more of an upper class affair, but like any regular Carnival band people have no standards when it comes to Carnival... and so wining on any and everybody was the order of the day. If you played in Harts you would have definitely said, "Money well  spent!" Carnival is for those who are young at heart, but Harts are for those who are young, not saying the older folks didn't have fun too!!

The Bad:

Unfortunately, there were a few cases of violence in the band. But how Trinidad going these days, this is kinda the norm as we heard more horror stories that took place on the road in other mas bands as well. Also boy I sorry, I like girls young... but jail is something I'm afraid of! For some reason, Harts had a good bit of people that clearly seemed to be under the age of 18 in the band, some in costumes and many without. I know they have a young following, but some people need to stick to attending May Fair's and Disco's yo. To me, it was a turn off... well until I would see a 19 year old beauty pass in front and blow my mind away!! How easily one could forget ....

Happy 50th Anniversary Harts!
