All roads lead to the Hanger Chaguaramas! We feting with the largest assembly of university students from all over the world. YES, you heard me ... from Guyana, Jamaica, St. Lucia, Grenada, USA, UK, Canada, Trinidad & Tobago and so much more fly in just to party at UWI SPLASH. Surprising no traffic ... that is a major plus and security directing driving party goers where to park and guaranteeing you that your car will be safe while you in the fete ... humm they sure did sound convincing, we will know fuh sure when de party done!

On entry you must have noticed the two HUGE cranes and the amazing doom stage for the high energy cast of artist who were scheduled to perform at the fete tonight. Now we on de inside, bands on risk and it's time to macko and enjoy the fete. Am sorry to say I missed the BIG chutney band KARMA, but they did get great reviews. The venue was nicely decorated. Big up Zen ... you could see their banners hanging on each side of the main stage.

General admission was in the middle, whilst VIP was spilt into two sections made up of platforms that were located on either side of the stage. On the right hand side seating accommodations were arranged which set a comfy and romantic mood, and on left, it catered for the people who really came to fete and palance.

Food in VIP was GYROS at $25 a piece and chit bar system where you purchased Zen chits to use as your credit to acquire drinks. So I guess VIP patrons really paid for the better view, but it was good I heard no complains. Performance time yes! One of the most performed bands for the season soon took the stage. BUNJI & THE ASYLUM BAND along with his wife FAYANN LYONS. It was a high energy performance as always but they also took time to bash the other competitors of the Soca Monarch title as well as Road March contestants as part of their act. It was all in good fun however ... just Bunji showing his lyrical talent and versatility. It surely created a hype and stirred the patrons in delight.

Performing alongside them was TALLPREE who mashed up with his 2009/2010 hit "Wicked Jab" as well as other past hits like "Jab Jab" and "Old Woman". BUSY SIGNAL sent female fans crazy letting them know that "if you want him you could have him." Like our Trini girl Fayann wanted him because she wine out her spine, bounced and everything else you could imaged on the dancehall artist ... lol. Leaving him speechless for a moment, Busy then told Bunji that he was a lucky man! Bunji looked like he blushed there for a moment there yes ... lol.

Introducing to the stage next was BUFFY ... yeap she is new but has a BIG hit this season called "Anything" and dem lyrics in the song is so true. She had the crowd singing and in the grove until home girl wanted to freestyle and buss ... lol. I felt the embarrassment for her because patrons were laughing out loud but she man up and started over, saying she is a girl and things happen so give her a chance, and so the audience did.

Up next was SWAPPI. He wanted the ladies to know that he nah go play no games. This young talented artist got called back 5 times to sing ("Nah Go Play") his song yes! So many times I know right ... but is it his voice people like or his dancers or should I say dancer??!! During Swappi's performance, he has a thin young lady who could flex & wine etc., BUT he also has a THICK ... and when I say thick am serious, young lady who is proud of herself and size! She had on a transparent black leggings and bright green undies ... and yes, everything was out there! De girl was also doing a split like it was easy as 1 ... 2 ...3, bouncing from left to right. You could see that she was happy and nothing could bring her down. She's proud of what she doing. HATS off to her and well great job ... rather entertaining we must say!

Closing the show was the Bajan sensation ALISON HINDS and Jamaican lover boy JAH CURE. They make a cute performance couple ... what do you think?? They set the mood for the Valentine's Day, letting couples feel the love and just sending peace and love onto the youths and everyone in the venue. Alison did her past hits and the bumper is still working guys! Baby or no baby, her waist was still in tune with the music. Jah Cure also injected that reggae love vibes and positive aura, while also expressed how much he loves Trinidad. I figured that is why he's here so often, so ladies look out for more Jah Cure throughout the year ;-) Overall the fete was nice, mellow and high energy all in one, and I fuh sure a great time!

Your party girl Diva Desha ... muah!
