Kingston Jamaica: March 29, 2010: Last Sunday at the pre-party staged at Prendy’s, Hellshire Beach, fans who turned out to lend their support to one of the island’s best family showcase, rocked the night away as Konshens, Nitty Kutchie and other billed acts took them on a musical high. Since then plans are in full throttle for the official launch of Flava Squad Entertainment’s HYPE 2K10, on the ground of their office situated at 50 Dumbarton Avenue in St. Andrew.

The launch set for this Tuesday, March 30th at 7pm promises to be nothing short of exciting as patrons will get an opportunity to mingle with several headliners including veterans, Nitty Kutchie, Lukie D, Mad Cobra, the very controversial Lisa Hyper, new performance king Assassin aka Agent Sasco, Konshens and new sensations Chedda and Khago among others as the promotional team unveils the plans for this year. Hosting duties will be handled by ZJ Elektra from Zip FM.

HYPE 2K10 at Independence Park, Black River, St. Elizabeth, set against the background of a day and night affair, will on April 3rd unveil a family fun day and stage show with a host of activities for the children such as Bounce About, Go Carts, Ferris Wheel, and a mechanical bull. Other attractions include car stereo clashes, singing, deejaying  and dance competitions. Entertainment will be provided by Black Roze sound system and  the Diamond Squad Dancers.

Later in the evening the proceedings will transform into a stage show featuring a stellar line-up, headlined by some of the biggest names in music including Empire boss Vybz Kartel, Agent Sasco aka Assassin, Queen of the Dancehall Lady Saw, Konshens, Khago, Delly Ranx, Nitty Kutchie, Lisa Hyper, Rastafarian and cultural singers Sizzla Kalonji, Jah Cure, I-Octane, Vybrant and Determine. Other acts include Pamputtae, Ishawna, New Kidz, Richie Innocent, Chedda, Don Sniper, Ras Oneily, Killer Don, Brimstone, Timmi Burrell, Sheriff, Delus and veteran deejay Peter Metro.

BUSY SIGNAL NOT BOOKED

In the wake of an erroneous report carried in a local newspaper last week and a radio interview done by recording artiste Busy Signal, stating he was not booked for the show. The management of Flava Squad Entertainment has since met with manager Shane Brown to iron out the misunderstanding. “It was just a misprint of some old information regurgitated by the media from a previous staging when Busy Signal was a part of the line-up. I want to use this opportunity to make it clear to the public that he is not booked for the 2010 staging” – explained Dave ‘Tall Man’ Scott, Managing Director of Flava Squad Entertainment and one of the promoters.

The event is sponsored by  Don Cardona,  CVM TV, IRIE FM, X News, The Jamaica Star, 876radio.com, Prism Marketing Consultants, Darkcide International, Tori Shae’s Productions, Rum Bar Rum, Full Throttle,  Magnum Tonic Wine, LINKZ FM, VYBZ FM, John Swaby’s Ent., Outa Road.com, Las Vegas Café and Entertainment Vybz.com.
