Mi old, but mi nuh cold!!!  Kampai was the second event that TJJ attended on Easter Sunday, and after some heavy jamin’ at Luau I was still ready to have de ultimate Japanese experience at the Enchanted Gardens in Ocho Rios, Jamaica!

After two days of feting on James Bond and Reggae beaches, it was indeed refreshing to visit the water falls at Enchanted Gardens.  The ambiance created by the water falls as you walked up the stairs that ran alongside them to the main event would pacify even the most wretched soul.  And as you reached to the top there was an explosion of colourful foliage that overflowed and hugged you in the warmest Caribbean way.  But that temporary moment of Zen was then dashed away as yuh jungle spirit came alive to the Soca beats courtesy of “The Party Animal” DJ Kurt Riley along with other guest DJs. Large up DJ Lava, who held things down for T&T.

Now in Tarzan mode in the Enchanted Jungle ah went on the hunt for my Jane!  But yuh cyah go looking for Jane on an empty stomach, so ah went hunting for some food…  and free food was everywhere!  I had some Italian from Evita’s, curry from Passage To India, and good ole BBQ from Ribs Cage.  And the various specialty bars made every liquid experience memorable.

With no live acts there was more than enough eye food to keep you entertained.  Eye food flew in from Trinidad (must big up Caesars Army), some came from Cayman, and I even met a sexy Actuary originally from St. Vincent, who now works among the rest of sexy Jamaican women!  Overall, the crowd like Beach J’Ouvert was definitely uptown, but with a mature twist.

In the end with a sweet crowd, accessible venue, great vibes and good service from both the food and drink bars, Kampai was worth the journey up the falls!  So ah must give a toast to the nape, A.D., Dominic and de rest of de BayCrest Crew for creating the Kanpai to Kampai experience!!!

Keiron was there... where were you?
