A message from the Jamaican Prime Minister, The Honourable Bruce Golding

The Miss Jamaica Global Beauty Pageant over the years, has enjoyed increasing popularity and wide acclaim. It represents an opportunity for our young women to receive exposure and experience that translates into more mature, self-assured and confident individuals. It also opens ‘doors’ of opportunity for them – ‘doors’ which may have otherwise remained closed.

Over the years, many of the young women have been outstanding ambassadors for our country, placing our small isle in the ‘spotlight’ on the international ‘stage.’ This poignantly highlights to the world, the strength of our human capital and the potential and capacity of our young people – young people who will assume the mantle of leadership in the future.

Your sense of corporate responsibility is evident in your support for the Early Childhood sector –
a critical area of focus on the Government’s national agenda.

The success of this pageant, must be credited to the vision, foresight, initiative and hard work of the founders and directors.
I am confident that your current accomplishments, will be surpassed in the years to come.

I wish for your organization, an even bigger and better event this year!
